How to complete the prologue for 007 First Light.

007 First Light throws you straight into the line of fire during its prologue, Against The Odds. After a plane crash, Bond is left alone on a hostile island with only a faroff M16 agent to provide guidance. It’s up to you to safely get him out of his situation or else he’ll never become 007! If you need an extra helping hand, then take a look at the Against The Odds walkthrough down below.

007 First Light Against The Odds walkthrough
Against The Odds acts as not only the prologue for 007 First Light, but as an introductory mission for the game. It’s part tutorial, part giving you a taste of what’s to come. (The main tutorial is actually spread out across Mission 1: The Needle’s Eye.) Still, it’s also a good idea to know where you’re going and what you’re doing:
1. Locate the camp.
After a less than stellar flight, James Bond finds himself crashed on a remote beach and, to make matters worse, it’s raining. There’s also some dangerous enemies about, but we all know the rain is worse. Your first task in 007 First Light to reach the nearby camp, with this also acting as your stealth tutorial.
First head along the beach until you see an opening in the cliff face. There will be a number of enemy soldiers about, so make sure you’re crouching behind the rocks to avoid their torches. When your foes are looking the other way, dash up the pathway between the cliffs.

Keep going until you reach an area with a stream and more enemies. Here you’ll have to return to crouching behind the rocks to avoid being spotted. Continue forward until you run out of rock coverage. Don’t worry though as there will be some tall grass for you to hide in and, since this isn’t a Pokémon game, you don’t have to worry about being attacked by Pikachu.
The nearby foes won’t be able to spot Bond in the grass, but will if he leaves it. They will also head over to your location due to the sound of the radio. What you need to do is turn off the radio when prompted and head over to the far right-hand corner of the grass. There you’ll be able to see another section of grass and, when the enemies are looking the other way, walk into that. Keep in the grass until it ends and then continue your way up the hill before going up the ledge you find.

After a cutscene, it’s time to continue your climb. This section is pretty linear so continue following the path forward using the ledges to navigate the mountain face and jumping between them when prompted. You shouldn’t run into any more enemies (unless you fall somehow), so just continue forward until you reach the camp.

2. Reach the camp.
Now that you’ve located the camp, it’s time to actually go inside. To get down the mountain, take the left-hand path leading downwards, making sure to climb the rocks and jump the gap as you go. There will be some more ledge climbing sections as well and you’ll want to follow them, dropping down from ledge to ledge, until Bond slips and rolls down into the game.
It’s now time to start hiding behind rocks and crawling through grass again as you head towards the camp. You’ll want to head towards the two men investigating the bomb to trigger a short cutscene and for them to walk away.
With those guys out of the way, you can now slip by and go through the open window.

3. Search the room.
Now you’re within the camp, it’s time to search the room to figure out what’s actually going on. The clues you need to look for are:
- M16 Briefcase — By the bunkbed furthest from the main door.
- Dead body — Up against the wall in the next room. Quite hard to miss really…
- TXK-BIOM — In the same room as the dead body. It’s on a bench near the main doorway and near a towel.
After having looked at these three clues, it’s time to head outside into the camp. (Don’t worry, Bond knows to disguise himself a little more.)

4. Search the camp.
Your first port of call is the cabin (or demountable if you will) with the open door slightly to your left. Inside you’ll find:
- Lighter — On the cabinet near the door.
- Comms Device — On the crate between two sets of bunk beds.
- Patch — On the white bag, which itself is on the bottom bunk of the beds in the left-hand corner from the door.
- Torn Page — On a chest just after the bunk beds where the white bag sits.
- Rocket Launcher — On the table at the far end of the cabin.

With that information gathered, leave the cabin by the door opposite the table with the rocket launcher. (Not the one you entered by basically.) From there, walk across to the shelves opposite the doorway and you’ll find a collectible — the 7 of Acorns. As you’re walking, a vehicle, the BT-65, will smash across the path you’re meant to take and you can move it by interacting with the nearby laptop.

After moving the BT-65, it’s time to enter the tent. Simply follow the path until you reach a building and head on inside. Next continue forward by going down the tunnel and entering the main part of the tent. Though Bond does mention starting to feel a little unwell…
Don’t worry about that for now though and continue forward until you find a gap in the plastic fence. You’ll now want to head across the centre of the tent to the open box where you’ll sadly learn that the on-board computer has gone missing. Time to find it!

5. Look for the on-board computer.
To find the on-board computer, you need to continue going forward to the opposite side of the tent (though it’s not very far) and search the crates. There’s four crates to search through in total, but Bond is definitely starting to feel a little unwell.
When you come to the edge of this section of the tent, Bond will automatically duck down behind some crates as two people walk past. Stay hidden as they walk past and, once they’re gone, head towards the red door they entered the area by. It’s time to get some Bond some medicine.

6. Find antidote.
After going through another short tunnel, you’ll find yourself in a medical bay. The antidote is within a box somewhere in here, but things aren’t going well for Bond to say the least. If you want to speed up the process, then simply head round to the back of the room where you’ll find the box storing the antidote. Though you’re free to check the other boxes and lockers as you go.

7. Follow the guards.
Since Bond is alive and well again, it’s time to get back to the rookie spywork. Follow the guards by climbing the various ledges and jumping across gaps in the same fashion as you did before reaching the game until you enter a cutscene.
8. Save the captives.
With the earpiece discarded, it’s time to fly solo and do some proper James Bond action! There’s two sets of captives you have to save — one in container B4, the other G9. You can tackle them in either order, but I’m going to start with G9 since it’s closer to your current location. You can also approach this scenario with either straight violence, stealth or a mixture of both. Personally I took the latter; remaining hidden as much as possible, but knocking out enemies when needed.
Search container G9
To reach this container, jump down from the ledge and head into the tall grass. Now go left, hugging the cliff wall if you can, and you’ll find another ledge you can climb up onto. This will take you to a path running through this cliff, which emerges closer to G9.
Don’t drop down straight away though! Instead, look to your left and you’ll see a small gap in the rocks that Bond can squeeze though. Do so before dropping down to ground level and making your way around to the other side of the container by going left. Make sure you’re not spotted by an enemy while doing so. If you are, however, then fighting directly behind the container will provide you with some good cover to take your foe out easily.

Once there, duck behind the nearby crates so you’re safely hidden from the two nearby enemies. You’ll need to at least take the nearest one out as he’s looking directly at the door you need to enter by. Do this, turn on the SAS Radio to draw him over to the crates then, as he’s walking by, quickly perform a takedown to take him out.

Next, enter G9 and immediately take out the enemy waiting inside. You should be able to do this easily if you’re not spotted by walking up behind him and performing a takedown. After he’s knocked out, take the storage key from him. There’s also a collectible — the Satellite Part — on the nearby desk in this room.
Storage key in hand, open up the door and free the captives.

Search container B4
Now it’s time to free the other group of captives, with your objective changing to ‘free captive in container B4 / G9’ depending on where you went first. The following instructions will assume you’ve visited G9 first.
With that in mind, starting in the G9 container, you need to head out of the door you entered by. Now crouch down and sneak up behind the nearby enemy, so you can perform a takedown to knock him out.

Next, go around the crates the enemy was standing in front of to find a gap you can squeeze through. Afterward, crouch down in the tall grass immediately to ensure you don’t blow your cover. Remain in the tall grass and follow it along until you’re on its edge with a set of crates directly in front of you.

Now, while remaining crouched, head towards those crates and use them as cover as you sneak around a group of enemies looking at a truck. Keep following the crates until you reach a laptop that controls the BT-65. Now you have a choice — you can either use the laptop to move the truck and distract the enemies or leave it be. Personally, I used the laptop to help complete a challenge and just provide a little bit of extra distraction.
No matter what choice you make, continue past the rocks next to the crate to find a small gully. Drop down into this gully and you can safely move across the camp out of site. Just ensure you’re heading away from the cliff face or else you’ll be going in the wrong direction.

Keep moving through the gully, squeezing between another gap in the rocks, until you spot some tall grass growing near a ledge on your right-hand side. When you spot this, climb out of the gully and into this spot. You’re now next to B4, but the door is quite well guarded.

To avoid being spotted, stay crouched and head over to the section of tall grass near the bomb and another set of crates. From there, you can sneak around the crates until you reach an ATV. Now you need to sabotage the ATV’s brakes and immediately head back around the crates you’ve been using for cover. This is because the ATV crashing will immediately bring enemies over to your current location, but it will also provide you with the cover needed to enter B4. Quickly get over to the door, remaining out of sight, and head on inside. Just make sure you take out the guard inside out straight away.

You can also enter B4 by, after exiting the gully, turning around and crossing the small bridge behind you. To your right will be a crate you can use to climb atop of the B4’s roof. From there, cross the roof until you find a piece of yellow fabric hanging off the side. Drop down from the roof in this location and you should be able to climb into B4 via an open window. Don’t forget to take out the guard!
The only problem with this method is that there’s a chance you’ll be spotted after dropping off the roof. You also need to ensure you’re dropping off the roof in the right place or else you’ll find yourself trapped on the wrong side. Worse still, you could place Bond directly in an enemy’s line of sight! Personally, I prefer using the distraction as it moves all the nearby guards away from B4.
Time to free the captives again! If this is the second container you’ve visited, then it will be time to make your escape from the camp. First, however, pick up the detonator. (You never know when this time will come in handy.)
9. Loosen mast wire.
It’s time to escape the camp and, if you visited container B4 last, then this is very easy to achieve. Simply climb up the ladder to the roof, approach the mast wire and sabotage it when prompted. If you went to G9 first, however, you’ll have to make your way back across the camp.

10. Escape the camp.
With the mast wire down, jump directly off the roof. Follow the path you land on and go through the open window directly in front of you. Don’t stop to look at the flames inside and continue out of the next window.
After a cutscene and a quick time event, you’ll find yourself running for your life. This section of the game just involves running forward, the game making it very clear about where you need to go, and completing the quick time events when they occur.
No matter what you do, Bond will become cornered on a cliff edge. Thankfully, he has that detonator he can use for some blackmail material. You’ll be given a countdown for whether you want to use the detonator and you might as well press the button yourself, because, if you let time run out, then Bond will press it himself anyways. (Honestly, I don’t know why they included the timer.)

After the explosion fills the sky, you’ll be treated to a proper Bond opening — song and all! The game will then continue into Mission 1: The Needle’s Eye, which acts as the game’s main tutorial, before heading into the next mission — Mission 2: A Night Out.
