How to complete Beyond the Grave in Mauritania.

After having yet another brush with death at the hands of Bawma in Aleph, Mission 5 — Beyond the Grave (which I’m coining The Past Never Dies Part 2) in 007 First Light sees you leaving Aleph for the Transworld ship after some strange clues were left behind by 009.
If you’re looking for help navigating this mission, below I’ve put together a 007 First Light Mission 5 walkthrough to aid you with escaping yet another mission that’s not quite gone to plan.

007 First Light Mission 5 — The Past Never Dies Part 2 walkthrough
Now that you’ve somehow fled Aleph without becoming crocodile food, it’s time for you and Greenway to follow the trail of clues left behind by 009. This walkthrough continues where my Mission 4 walkthrough concluded.
When you are required to lower the bridge to keep driving, climb the blue pipe in front of the Land Rover and release the lever at the top. You need to do this on both sides of the drawbridge to lower it.

When you’re done, use the zipline and hop back inside of the Land Rover.
1. Explore the shipwreck and follow the clues
Follow Greenway towards the shipwreck and use your Q-Lens to see a symbol on the wall. Interact with the panel beside this symbol to move it, then make your way inside.

Follow Greenway until he tells you to look for more markings. Use your Q-Lens now and look around for symbols that match the one you just saw outside the shipwreck.
The next symbol is above the door to your left, so head over there.

Through the door, there are more symbols on your right as well as a booby trap. Disarm the trap then break down the door marked with the blue cross that’s just past it.

Through the door, climb along the ledges on your right and go through the gap at the top. Here, there are more symbols to your left, but once you walk that way, the floor beneath you will crumble.

Jump over to the platform below you, then use the improvised lift here to reach more symbols and a zipline. Go across the zipline.

At the bottom of the zipline, go through the bulkhead door to your right. There’s more symbols ahead, but also a booby trap you can’t disarm from here. Once again, use the ledges to your right to go past the trap and towards the next symbol.
The next marking is beside another bulkhead door, which is right in front of you after climbing back up from the ledge. However, you can’t open it just yet; you need Greenway’s help.

To allow Greenway to reach the door, you need to lower the drawbridge between you both.
Climb up the blue pipe to the left of the bridge, and jump to the ledge at the top. Release the lever here and the bridge will be lowered. That was nice and easy!

Now that Greenway can reach the bulkhead door from earlier, try opening it.
2. Search 009’s stash
You’re now in 009’s secret hideout where you’ll need to interact with some clues. The clues here are as follows:
- Body Armour — on the shelf to the left of the entrance.
- Equipment — beside the step ladder near the entrance.
- Ammo and Explosives — on the desk that’s surrounded by post-it notes.
- Supplies — the tinned cans on the shelf.
- Weapons — on the desk beside the above tinned cans.
- Ammo Reloader — on the desk inside the workshop.
- Combat Medical Supplies — on the desk beside the Ammo Reloader.
- Night Vision Goggles — on the desk opposite the medical supplies.
When you’re done investigating, go and interact with the briefcase that’s on the desk in the workshop. Soon enough though, it’ll become apparent that you’ve been followed here.
3. Escape the shipwreck
Your next objective is to escape the incoming ambush, and it’s here that you’ll want to start using a gun if you haven’t already. Otherwise, fending off all the incoming soldiers is going to be tough work.
On top of that, you want to use any Gadgets – especially those that can obscure the enemy’s vision – to help you with this. In the meantime, Greenway’s off to get the car for you both.

Guards will not only ambush you from ahead, but from your right-hand side too. Be prepared for this so as to not be quickly killed by them, and push forward once you have the opportunity to do so.
Once you reach the bulkhead door at the end of this area, you have a moment to breathe. That said, there are more guards ahead, but you’ll have more stealthy opportunities to deal with them.
For the guard following the bulkhead door, you can simply sneak over and perform a takedown or have a Flash Mine do it for you from afar.

You’ll find two sniper rifles by this guard’s body before approaching an open area. You currently have a vantage point and a sniper rifle, so you can no doubt see where this is going.
It’s time to clear out any remaining guards in this area using your new sniper. Don’t forget to utilise any explosives around the area too to make the most of your bullets.

Once you’ve cleared this area, go to the gate on the other side and use the improvised lift here to continue. There’s more armed guards beyond this point, so be wary. You can choose to try and take these guys out stealthily or go all in all guns blazing: I did the latter and used a mixture of Smoke Bombs and Flash Mines to flush them out.
Again, you want to keep pushing forwards towards the next blockhead door as you clear these guys out.
Through the next blockhead door is a small corridor with a door for you to destroy, and you probably won’t be surprised at all to know that there’s even more enemies behind this door. Again, Smoke Pods are your best friend here for reducing their visibility and then going in for the kill. Keep pressing forward as you kill the guards.

You’ll need to rinse and repeat the above until you finally have Greenway come to your rescue, which fortunately isn’t too far away.

4. Protect Greenway
After an explosive getaway, you’re still not done here. You need to survive the incoming attack and protect Greenway while doing so.
Keep shooting the enemies and when ammunition runs dry, take the pistol and ammunition that Greenway gives you. Once that then runs out, don’t panic. A cutscene – and somebody else – is here to save the day thankfully.

You’ll soon find yourself back in MI6 HQ, and it’s not long before you’re thrown into the next mission.
