10 Strongest Characters at the End of Dragon Ball Super, Ranked By Power Level

10 Strongest Characters at the End of Dragon Ball Super, Ranked By Power Level

Anime has always been the medium in which Dragon Ball is most popular. While the Dragon Ball Super manga has continued running, it’s thus been 8 years since most fans experienced new Dragon Ball Super adventures, outside the Broly and Super Hero movies. And, for all of these fans, they only have the television series and movies to base their opinions on when determining who the strongest characters are.

They may not be as strong as their manga counterparts, but the most powerful fighters in the Dragon Ball Super anime are monsters in their own right. For heroes like Gohan, Piccolo, and Broly there’s hardly any difference at all. And, while Goku and Vegeta may be the most inferior to their more advanced selves, their Fusion technique still makes them stronger than any other mortal.

10 Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 Are Even Tougher Enemies Than Jiren and Kefla

Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 Are Directly Compared to Goku and Vegeta

It’s tough to believe just from looking at them, but Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 are stronger than every competitor from outside Universe 7 to have competed in the Tournament of Power. Created by Dr. Hedo, the duo of robotic superheroes were designed using the vast pool of data obtained by the remnants of the Red Ribbon Army. As Perfect Cell proved decades ago, a genius mind with data on the strongest warriors in the universe can produce near-unstoppable warriors.

During Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Gamma 2 fights and defeats Base Piccolo, who compares him to Goku and Vegeta. This means the power levels of the Gammas are relative to the Saiyans in their Super Saiyan Blue forms. While this level of strength is enough to overwhelm Piccolo initially, Gamma 2 loses his fight the instant Orange Piccolo is born.

9 Vegeta's Base Form Is Even Stronger Than Goku

From the start of the Tournament of Power, Vegeta was already one of its strongest participants. By the end of it, though, he surpasses the likes of Top and Frieza, thanks to unlocking his first-ever unique transformation: Super Saiyan Blue Evolution. This form wasn’t enough for him to overcome Jiren, but Vegeta has had a long time since then to close the gap.

Vegeta has had great showings ni both Dragon Ball Super movies. In Broly, he uses Super Saiyan God for the first time in the anime, and does as well against the titular Saiyan as Goku. Then, in Super Hero, Vegeta outright defeats Goku in a fight, albeit in their Base forms.

8 Goku Has Only Begun to Master Ultra Instinct in the Anime

Goku Has Lost All of His Most Recent One-on-One Fights in Dragon Ball Super

Goku in Dragon Ball Super is infamous for how often he loses, but he’s had an especially bad run lately. He couldn’t beat Jiren on his own at the climax of the Tournament of Power, he was completely outclassed by Broly, and he most recently lost a sparring match to Vegeta. Yet, for all his failures, Goku is still the only mortal with the power to tap into Ultra Instinct.

In the anime, Goku has not yet perfected Ultra Instinct, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still call upon the same awesome power that overwhelmed Jiren if he’s ever in a jam. Once he does perfect the Angelic state of being, there’s no telling what he’ll be capable of. Even without Ultra Instinct, though, Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue and Super Saiyan God forms are as strong as ever, and he was neck-and-neck with Vegeta during their clash in Super Hero.

7 Piccolo Surpassed Goku and Vegeta by Becoming Orange Piccolo

Among all of Dragon Ball Super’s main characters, Piccolo gains the most from being solely judged off the anime. For the only time since he first fused with Kami, Piccolo is stronger than Goku and Vegeta. Of course, this is thanks to Super Hero, and its introduction of the «Orange» transformation.

Piccolo is one of the most intelligent characters in the franchise, and there’s no reason to doubt him when he compares the Gamma Androids to Goku and Vegeta. After he transforms into Orange Piccolo, he demolishes Gamma 2, cementing himself as superior to the Saiyans. Piccolo is still far from being the most powerful character overall, though, as he loses in the film’s climax to Cell Max.

6 Cell Max is the Strongest Villain in the Dragon Ball Super Anime

Cell Max Overwhelms Orange Piccolo

10 Strongest Characters at the End of Dragon Ball Super, Ranked By Power Level

The final boss of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Cell Max follows the series’ traditions, and is more fearsome than any of his villainous predecessors. Created by Dr. Hedo, what’s most frightening about Cell Max is that he wasn’t even finished before he was unleashed. Despite not even being done, Cell Max makes short work of Gotenks, Android 18, and Krillin, and defeats Orange Piccolo.

Cell Max might be the strongest villain in the anime, but he definitely would have benefited from being perfected. As is, his victory over Piccolo is only clinched by the Namekian’s dedication to putting himself in the line of fire for Gohan at every conceivable opportunity. And, once he does defeat Piccolo, he’s swiftly killed by Gohan Beast.

5 Broly Pummeled Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza in His Introductory Film

Broly Could Only Be Stopped by Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta

Dragon Ball Super: Broly changed a lot about the eponymous Legendary Super Saiyan in the process of canonizing him, but one thing it didn’t change was how much of a monster he is in battle. Throughout the film, he takes on Universe 7’s previous top three fighters, and absolutely destroys them all. Without even using his full power, Broly stops Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza into the dirt, in a beautifully animated fashion.

While there’s no individual Saiyan stronger than Broly by the end of the movie, that doesn’t account for fusions. Fearsome as Broly is in both his Wrathful and Super Saiyan forms, he’s ultimately beaten by Gogeta. Notably, however, the fusion of Goku and Vegeta still needed to enter Super Saiyan Blue to achieve victory.

4 Gohan is the Strongest Z-Fighter in Dragon Ball Super

Beast Gohan Defeats Cell Max with Ease

10 Strongest Characters at the End of Dragon Ball Super, Ranked By Power Level

Just like the ending of Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super has left off with Gohan being the strongest non-fused person in the universe. This version of Gohan currently holds an even greater title, though. Following the events of Super Hero, Gohan is the most powerful non-fused mortal in the entire multiverse.

Gohan may not train, or even enjoy fighting, but the pool of potential he can draw from his rage is limitless. After witnessing Piccolo be critically injured by Cell Max, he unlocks his new «Beast» transformation, and becomes leagues stronger than the ultimate Android in the process. With how easy Gohan’s victory over Cell Max is, it’s clear that no mortal, apart from Broly, can even compare to him.

3 Gogeta Made His Grand Canon Debut in Dragon Ball Super: Broly

While Gogeta first debuted in Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, it wasn’t until Dragon Ball Super: Broly that he finally became canon. The result of Goku and Vegeta performing the Fusion Dance, Gogeta is just as effective a weapon now as he was in the 90s. Just as he swiftly killed Janemba in his initial appearance, Gogeta is the hero to trounce the previously unstoppable Broly.

The stronger Goku and Vegeta get, the more powerful Gogeta becomes, and they had over a year to train in-between the events of Broly and Super Hero. Broly also has access to all the Saiyans’ techniques and transformations, meaning that he can use Super Saiyan Blue. In this form, Gogeta’s power is so great that his attacks can break through dimensional barriers.

2 Vegito is a Theoretical Potara Powerhouse

Goku and Vegeta Haven't Formed Vegito in Recent Times

10 Strongest Characters at the End of Dragon Ball Super, Ranked By Power Level

Potara fusions have always been superior to their Fusion Dance counterparts. Hence, Goku and Vegeta’s first fusion, Vegito, will always be slightly stronger than Gogeta. This still holds true now, even if Goku and Vegeta haven’t used the Potara earrings since the Future Trunks Saga.

Vegito enjoys all the same benefits that Gogeta does, becoming more powerful the stronger Goku and Vegeta get, and having access to Super Saiyan Blue. Had he been the one called upon in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, he would have defeated the Legendary Super Saiyan as easily as his counterpart. Hopefully, if the anime ever returns, Vegito will get to properly show off how strong he’s become.

1 The Gods and Angels Remain Unsurpassed by Dragon Ball Super's Mortals

The Omni-Kings Will Always Be the Strongest Characters in Dragon Ball Super

Despite how much the Z-Fighters have grown, they still can’t compete with the Omni-Kings, the Grand Priest, the Angels, or the Gods of Destruction. This isn’t wholly true across the board, as it’s confirmed that Belmod is weaker than Jiren, but it’s by and large the case. None of the Saiyans are even close to Beerus’ level and, even assuming he’s stronger than all the other Gods of Destruction like in the manga, he himself is still significantly weaker than Whis and the other Angels.

As the father of the Angels, the Grand Priest is superior to all of his children, and is said to be one of the top five fighters in existence. It’s unknown exactly what he’s capable of, or even what this means, as no other members of the top five have been confirmed. Whatever he can do, though, it can’t compare to Zeno and Future Zeno’s shared ability to blink entire universes out of existence in an instant.
