At first, Jewelry Bonney felt like a borderline gag character in One Piece, even if she belonged to the 11 Supernovas, a group containing notable names like Trafalgar Law and even Luffy himself. Bonney made a fun but unimpressive impression as a girl with a bratty temper and a messy love of food. Over time, though, One Piece fans saw how powerful Bonney really is, including clever usage of her Age-Age Fruit. With it, she can turn her enemies into little children or frail elders.
Most recently, Bonney upped her game in the most incredible way possible in the One Piece manga: emulating Nika to be more like Gear 5 Luffy. This may not truly be a second Gear 5, but it has come impressively close, and it gave Bonney a fighting chance against the Five Elders on Future Island. That, combined with Bonney’s remarkable strength with Color of Arms Haki, means she could take on some of the strongest fighters in One Piece and prevail. She couldn’t take down the Admirals or Emperors, but most other pirates and Marines are fair game for Kuma’s beloved foster daughter.
10 Bonney's Nika Punch Would Immediately Knock Eustass Kid Out
Debut Episode: "New Rivals Gather! The 11 Supernovas"
It’s true Eustass Kid took down the Emperor Big Mom/Charlotte Linlin in the Wano saga, but that doesn’t make him unbeatable. Kid needed Trafalgar Law’s help to topple that Emperor during the Onigashima Island raid, and even then, those two Supernovas only barely survived and win the fight. That gives other Supernovas a fair chance when fighting Kid, such as the age-shifting Jewelry Bonney.
Like most Supernovas, Kid could give Bonney a good fight and would not go down easily, but it’s still conceivable Bonney could defeat him. That is doubly true if the battlefield has little to no metal for Kid to manipulate with his Magnet-Magnet Fruit, and unlike One Piece‘s swordsmen, Bonney doesn’t rely on metal to fight. She just needs her Nika form’s incredible punches and her Color of Arms Haki, and Kid won’t last in the face of such power.
9 Basil Hawkins Won't Have Time to Use His Tarot Cards Against Bonney
Debut Episode: "New Rivals Gather! The 11 Supernovas"
Basil Hawkins is a member of the Supernovas, like Bonney and Kid, and he seems to be among the weaker members of the bunch. He’s still a powerful fighter, what with the power of his Straw-Straw Fruit and his usage of tarot cards, but he’s not so well-equipped to face Bonney’s reckless, blunt power. Hawkins is the type to patiently and methodically prepare to take down his foes, such as using his straw voodoo dolls.
If Hawkins made such a doll of Bonney in their fight, then Bonney would struggle to defeat him. But if Bonney can take Hawkins by surprise and give him no prep time, then Bonney has a serious edge in the fight. Bonney can be aggressive and blunt when motivated, and she could bash her way right through Hawkins’ defenses if she’s quick enough. If a punch from Bonney’s Nika form can threaten the Five Elders, the living weapons of the government, then those punches would certainly knock out Hawkins.
8 Hody Jones Couldn't Survive Against Bonney in a Fight
Debut Episode: "Landing at Fish-Man Island — The Lovely Mermaids"
Hody Jones was a pretty serious threat to Luffy and the Straw Hats. He was like an enhanced version of Arlong, complete with the same ideology, and he was quite fast and dangerous underwater. Being a fish-man, of course, Hody Jones is more effective in water, though Luffy still took him down. That was around the time when Luffy started using Haki regularly in battle thanks to Silvers’ training.
By now, Hody Jones has been left behind by the power scaling in One Piece, even if he is familiar with Haki and benefits from underwater combat. In the water, Hody Jones would stand a chance against Bonney’s Nika form, but on a battlefield of dry land, Hody Jones won’t last long. He can’t possibly endure a Haki-infused Nika punch, and if Bonney de-ages Hody Jones into a child, then this battle will be even more one-side.
7 Gecko Moria Isn't Used to Fighting His Own Battles & Would Lose Against Bonney
Debut Episode: "His Name is Moria! Trap of the Great Shadow-Stealing Pirate"
Some Warlords of the Sea are still too tough and too skilled for Bonney to defeat in a fair fight, such as Dracule Mihawk and the sandy Sir Crocodile, but Gecko Moria is different. He was viewed as the weakest Warlord, whether he was worthy of that title, and his reliance on shadow warriors made him less potent as a fighter. Moria isn’t used to fighting his own battles, so if Bonney forced him to, things would go poorly for Moria.
If Moria had the zombie Oars on his side, he might stand a chance against Bonney, but Oars was destroyed after Moria tangled with the Straw Hats on Thriller Bark. If Moria must fight with his own two hands, he’s in big trouble when staring down Nika’s wrath, and then he would definitely prove why he’s not worthy of being a Warlord. Most likely, Bonney wouldn’t even need to use her Age-Age Fruit on Moria to weaken him further.
6 Killer's Punishers Can't Take On Bonney's Nika Punches
Debut Episode: "New Rivals Gather! The 11 Supernovas"
Killer’s name is perfect for him, with this pirate being a vicious warrior who isn’t afraid to hack off the body parts of other Supernovas, such as Hawkins’ arm. He even had his strength recognized by Roronoa Zoro himself, which is high praise in the post-time skip One Piece story. Killer also boasts astonishing speed when he fights, and can spin his Punisher blades like saws for a variety of purposes.
The problem is Bonney has both her Nika punches and her Devil Fruit on her side, which will win her the fight if she’s quick enough. Bonney would have to taunt or mock Killer to stall for time, then take her brief chance to use her Age-Age Fruit on Killer. Once Killer is a feeble old man, his extreme speed will be greatly reduced, and that would allow Bonney to land a devastating Nika punch on this Supernova to win.
5 Boa Hancock's Seduction Would Not Work Against Bonney
Debut Episode: "Hurry! Back to the Crew — Adventure on the Isle of Women"
Against most opponents, Boa Hancock is a formidable opponent, one who has gotten acknowledgement from the Admirals and other Navy top brass. Befitting her appearance and lofty personality, Hancock uses her unparalleled charms to turn her admirers into stone with her Love-Love Fruit’s power. Then, Hancock can kick them apart into stone, showing the strength of her long legs. Notably, Hancock can also use all three types of Haki.
While One Piece‘s canon story isn’t entirely clear on what Bonney thinks of Hancock, it’s possible Bonney would ignore Hancock’s charms if they were to fight. Bonney is a child, after all, and wouldn’t have R-rated thoughts about the seductive Hancock by any means. Bonney could also use her own Devil Fruit to wither Hancock into a crone, negating Hancock’s seduction-based strategy altogether. That would reduce things to a physical fight, where the aged Hancock would give Bonney a good fight before losing to a few Nika punches.
4 Bonney Would Beat Scientist Caesar Clown Into a Pulp
Debut Episode: "The Crew is Confused! The Shocking Beheaded Samurai Appears!"
Like Moria, Caesar Clown is a Devil Fruit-wielding villain who can fight with his own two hands, but would rather not. Both villains are more interested in carrying out cruel experiments and sending their minions into battle, so they aren’t entirely well-equipped to fight the likes of Bonney. Caesar put up a fight when Luffy confronted him and even endured Haki-infused punches and Gear 2, but Bonney can do more than that.
In such a battle, Bonney would start by using her Age-Age Fruit to shrink Caesar into a child. That would symbolically humiliate Caesar and make him the same age as the youths whom he tormented on Punk Hazard. Then, the pint-sized Caesar would suffer as Bonney pounded him into submission with the full wrath of her Haki and Nika form. Caesar might endure the first few blows, but his young form couldn’t keep it up for long.
3 Kaku is Pretty Tough, But He Can't Beat Bonney's Nika Punch
Debut Episode: "The Adventure in the City of Water! Aim For the Giant Shipyard"
Kaku is a member of what was once called CP9, a group led by the coldly confident Rob Lucci. Kaku can turn into a giraffe swordsman with his Devil Fruit, and as of the Water 7 saga, he was easily a match for Zoro with both his swords and Six Powers style. Since then, Kaku has gotten even stronger after awakening his Devil Fruit, similar to how Lucci awakened his own. Fans saw that for themselves when both World Government goons arrived on Future Island.
It’s true Kaku is still a formidable fighter who can stand up to the Straw Hats, and he attempted to catch up to the Straw Hats’ own power scaling. However, Kaku and Lucci have still been left behind and neither of them can take on Gear 5 or Bonney’s approximation of it. Kaku would last a while in a battle against Bonney, but soon, Bonney could get the edge by aging him into an old man and knock him out with the same punch that hurt the Five Elders.
2 Burgess Would Give Bonney a Good Fight But Would Still Lose
Debut Episode: "Stop Dreaming! The City of Ridicule, Mock Town!"
Jesus Burgess was one of the first crewmates of the Blackbeard Pirates armada whom One Piece fans ever met, long before Blackbeard recruited elite prisoners in the Impel Down prison. Back then, Burgess was already a terrifying foe in battle as a brute-strength pirate, and then he ate the Strong-Strong Fruit to push things to the next level. It’s little wonder Burgess is the captain of the First Ship in Blackbeard’s fleet.
That is why, if she were to ever face Burgess, Bonney would urgently need the power of her own Age-Age Fruit to wither Burgess into a geriatric version of himself. That would sabotage Burgess’ speed, strength, and endurance a great deal, and then Bonney could surpass him in her Nika form. Only by pressing those advantages to their limit could Bonney clobber Burgess, knocking him pout with her cartoon fists.
1 Mr. 1 Isn't Sharp Enough to Slice Up Bonney's Nika Form
Debut Episode: "At Spiders Cafe — The Enemy Ringleaders Meet at 8 o'Clock"
Even now, Bonney would struggle against Sir Crocodile, who has only gotten stronger ever since he and Mihawk formed Cross Guild. The Sand-Sand Fruit’s ability to leech moisture would wreak havoc on Bonney in a fight, but the same isn’t true of the Dice-Dice Fruit. That is the Devil Fruit of Daz Bonez, the assassin known as Mr. 1. He was one of Crocodile’s most powerful minions, and nearly killed Zoro in their battle.
By this point, Daz Bonez is impressive but not dangerous to the Supernovas if they take him seriously. His bladed body is his single biggest asset, lacking the power of Haki, so he would merely slow down Bonney’s assault with his steely body. Bonney’s Nika power is too much for him, though, and with the benefit of cartoon physics, Bonney would knock Daz Bonez right out. Unfortunately for him, Daz Bonez lacks not just Haki, but also a Devil Fruit awakening to even the odds.
