Denzel Washington may have two Oscars to his name, but the accomplished actor is part of just one film franchise. Though that may be the case, the franchise he is part of is blowing up on the streaming charts. Per FlixPatrol, Washington’s The Equalizer 3 is currently Number 12 in the U.S. among all the movies streaming on Hulu.
The 2023 threequel is ahead of The Heat, Just Go with It, and F Marry Kill, which are in the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth spots, respectively. The top spot on the Hulu chart belongs to Jason Statham’s Wrath of Man.
In The Equalizer 3, Washington reprises his role as Robert McCall, who, after giving up his work as a government assassin, tries to repent for his past. In the film, McCall is seen trying to adjust to a new life in southern Italy. But, he soon has to step into action after realizing that some of his new friends are being oppressed by the Camorra, a criminal society that harasses and kills innocent people.

Washington: "They Want Me to Go Get the Bad Guys"
The success of the Equalizer franchise has prompted two more sequels, which were confirmed to be in the works back in November 2024. Washington, at that time, told Esquire that he wanted to do the sequels for the fans, not just for himself. “I’ve come to realize that the Equalizer films are for me, too, because they’re for the people,” Washington said.
“They want me to go get the bad guys. ‘We can’t get them, so you go get them.’ And I say, ‘Okay, I’ll get them!’ Just wait right there. I’ll be right back!” Washington said. The actor added that the next Equalizer movies are a top priority for him.
“I have things lined up for a few years. I told them I would do another Equalizer, and we’re doing 4 and 5. More people are happy about that — people love those doggone Equalizers. It’s about variety for me. I’ll sometimes say to myself, ‘One’s for me, one’s for them,’” Washington said.
Washington will Team Up with Robert Pattinson in a New Netflix Movie
Up next for Washington is the Netflix film, Here Comes the Flood, with The Batman’s Robert Pattinson and Twisters’ Daisy Edgar-Jones. The action/heist film comes from Oscar-nominated director Fernando Meirelles (City of God). It is listed as being in pre-production on IMDb.
The Equalizer 3 is streaming on Hulu.
