A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been making waves across the industry. While the storyline already happens to be intriguing, some recent hints at Egg’s lineage have been amazingly depicted. One such instance was noticed in Episode 3, The Squire.
During a pre-dawn scene, Dunk enters a stable and sees Egg trying to ride a horse. While the short boy, getting up on a tall horse itself hints at how he might have ridden the animal before, while enjoying his royal days, his next reaction brings in more surprise.
As soon as Dunk enters the stable, Egg is heard yelling, “My Lord.” This is a major hint at how he is not some ordinary kid from around the villages. Just as Charles Dance’s Tywin Lannister told Arya Stark, in Game of Thrones, the lowborns use “m’ord” not “my lord.”
Towards the end of The Squire, we discover that Egg is an abbreviation of Aegon. However, up until now, the show has given out many instances that teased that Egg is of royal blood.
Every Time Egg Proved He Was of Royal Blood and Not a Lowborn

Right within the first episode of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the presence of a Targaryen was hinted at. It was when a drunk man paid the pub using a Targaryen coin. Those who missed it, the coin bears a sigil of the three-headed dragon. What’s interesting is that just a few moments later, Dunk meets Egg.
The shaved head of the young boy is again a hint that the character is trying to hide his true identity. In case he kept his hair, he would have drawn major attention with silver hair, a sign of a trueborn.
Speaking of a trueborn, episode 3 brings in another hint. A fortune teller sees the future of Egg, and later makes a prophecy that Egg will be a king one day. While it was all a joke for Dunk, Egg was seemingly scared by the prophecy. All because he already knew his chances of sitting on the throne one day.
Meanwhile, in case you missed the most major part till now, listen to the way Egg talks. His language is very formal. Moreover, he is filled with knowledge. Something that a normal child from the village of Westeros would rarely know.
Plus, he knew the inner workings of the tourneys, which only a royal blood would know.
