Round8 surprised Lies of P players a few days ago by shadow dropping the game’s first major DLC, Overture, on the same day it was announced at Summer Game Fest.
If you found the DLC enemies a bit too hard, you’re not alone. This is something the studio has acknowledged today in a Director’s Letter by game director Jiwon Choi.
In the video, Choi acknowledges the feedback they’ve received from players regarding the game’s expansion and outlines some of their plans for it.
Lies of P Overture Getting An Update To Reduce Difficulty And More
Choi thanked the players for their feedback and suggestions since the DLC launched. The developers are reviewing the information and confirm they are looking to implement some of the suggestions from players.
The primary focus they’re currently examining is combat experience. Choi mentioned there are identified areas that «did not turn out quite as we intended.»
The game director confirmed that they are reviewing various adjustments, including difficulty reduction. Given how combat is the most fundamental experience in the game, Choi mentions that any modifications or changes require thorough testing. As such, they can’t confirm a specific schedule for the patch just yet.
Choi mentions that the dev team is taking their time and doing their best to deliver a better experience as soon as they can.
It’s not just Lies of P’s Overture DLC that was released a little bit too hard for players. Even Elden Ring Nightreign was a little bit too unforgiving for solo players, which is something FromSoftware addressed in a title update.
While some might get impatient at Round8, it’s better for them to take their time, rather than hastily release an update that might bring more problems than it solves. Not to mention it might cause technical issues as well.
Hopefully, the dev team won’t take too long to release a patch, and once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.
If you’ve yet to play Lies of P, it’s one of the more solid Souls-like games out there. Our review of it was quite positive, stating, «Despite some hiccups with aspects of the story and some superfluous mechanics, Lies of P is an absolutely fantastic game with gripping action and a wonderfully dark setting. Its mix of seemingly disparate ideas is genre fusion that’s just bizarre enough to work.»
