Deadlock can be a very competitive game where every match pushes you to the limit. To separate casual players from the truly dedicated, the game features a deep ranking system that reflects your skill and consistency.
However, climbing the ladder is hard, as it’s about proving you can perform under pressure week after week. Whether you’re just starting or aiming for the top, ranks are your badge of hard work. Let’s dive in.

The Deadlock ranking system aims to create a steady increase in player skills, from beginner to elite. From game knowledge and consistency to the hero you play with, each rank represents the bump in player skill level perfectly.
Every rank also includes 6 sub-ranks (I to V + *), meaning progression isn’t just about jumping tiers. You’ll steadily grind within each level before advancing. This makes the climb feel more rewarding and gives you clear milestones along the way.
Here’s the full ranking ladder – lowest (11) to highest(1):
| Tier Level | Rank Name |
|---|---|
| 11 | Initiate |
| 10 | Seeker |
| 9 | Alchemist |
| 8 | Arcanist |
| 7 | Ritualist |
| 6 | Emissary |
| 5 | Archon |
| 4 | Oracle |
| 3 | Phantom |
| 2 | Ascendant |
| 1 | Eternus |
To qualify for a rank update, you must complete at least 7 ranked matches in that week. If you don’t meet this requirement, you’ll temporarily drop back into Obscurus (meaning you’re currently unranked), even if you were previously ranked.
How Progression and Rank Points Work

Ranking in Deadlock revolves around performance, consistency, and activity. When you play ranked matches, you earn (or lose) rank points depending on your results and overall impact in games.
The best way to gain rank points consistently is by winning, of course. You also need to play your role perfectly to gain some extra points. However, climbing isn’t just about grinding endlessly; it’s also about staying active every week.
Ranks are recalculated weekly, meaning your recent matches carry the most weight. This keeps the system dynamic and ensures that only active players hold ranks.
However, entering the ranked mode also needs a few requirements:
- Play 50 total matches
- Maintain a clean account (no bans or penalties)
On top of that, ranked mode is only available during specific hours each day, so planning your playtime is part of the grind.
