While exploring the dangerous areas in Little Nightmares, players can guide Six to light up some lanterns and candles using her lighter. Some of them are found along the way, while others are hidden or tucked away in difficult-to-see corners. Lighting 20 out of all the lanterns and candles across the chapters will earn you the Light Up Your Life achievement in Little Nightmares.
All Lantern & Candle Locations In Chapter 1 — Little Nightmares
Lantern Location #1
From the beginning of the first chapter, after Six wakes up, head right and light the first lantern.
Lantern Location #2
When you reach a fridge, open it to reveal a Nome. it through the hole to the right to find the second lantern.
Lantern Location #3
Climb the fridge and run across the platform while leeches are falling from the ceiling to reach a room with a box and a lever. Go to the right corner close to the camera and light the third lantern.
Lantern Location #4
After falling through the planks and running away from the leeches, light the fourth lantern near the ladder.
Lantern Location #5
After climbing a long makeshift rope with the Janitor dragging something above you, light the fifth lantern in the left corner of the bathroom-like room.
Lantern Location #6
Upon successfully evading the first petrifying eye encounter, climb the boxes and light the lantern.
Lantern Location #7
From the same area, climb the cages and head right to enter a small cage where a Nome was sitting. Light the lantern next to it.
Lantern Location #8
After Six’s first hunger episode, you’ll reach a tall room full of cages blocked by electrified bars. Climb the cages to the top near the swinging box and light the lantern.
Lantern Location #9
In the same area, once you pull the drawers out and pull the lever to turn off the power, light the ninth lantern across the imprisoned Nome.
All Lantern & Candle Locations In Chapter 2 — Little Nightmares
Lantern Location #1
From the beginning of chapter 2, climb the stairs and enter the first room you find. Use the chair to reach the desk and light the lantern.
Lantern Location #2
After using the monkey toys to call the elevator, Six will have a hunger episode. While walking towards the cage, light the lantern.
Lantern Location #3
Upon being caught and breaking out of the cage, go through the small gap to the left and light the third lantern.
Candle Location #1
Once Six swings out of where she was captured, climb the bars to the top and light the candle near the bathtub.
Lantern Location #4
After using a lever to open a hatch and running away from the Janitor, light the lantern in the vents.
Candle Location #2
Before jumping onto the piano for the first time, light the candle on the top of the bookcase.
Candle Location #3
While walking on the upper shelves to not attract the Janitor’s attention, climb to the higher shelf and light a candle.
Candle Location #4
After getting the lever and distracting the Janitor with a TV, walk along the lower bookshelves to find the fourth candle.
Candle Location #5
Once Six rotates the lever and pulls up the piano, jump to the other side and light a candle.
Lantern Location #5
After using the cart to open a door and before the final confrontation with the Janitor, you can light a lantern next to two holes where the Janitor’s arm will poke through.
All Lantern & Candle Locations In Chapter 3 — Little Nightmares
Lantern Location #1
Once you encounter the first Chef in chapter 3, run to the kitchen and climb the white cabinet near the locked door to light the lantern.
Candle Location #1
Upon landing inside a bathroom with two toilet seats, climb over them and jump towards the shelf on the left to ignite a candle.
Lantern Location #2
After heading to the freezer to get more meat for the grinder, go up the small window to see a lantern near a statue of the lady.
Lantern Location #3
The moment Six is in the backroom where the two Chefs are washing plates, emerge from the first drain and climb the pots cabinet.
Hop onto the shelves to the left to find another lantern.
All Lantern & Candle Locations In Chapter 4 — Little Nightmares
Lantern Location #1
From the beginning of chapter 4, The Guests Area, go left and crawl through a small hole to light a lantern next to a Nome.
Lantern Location #2
When you reach a long table where many Guests are eating, head to the end of the room to scare away a Nome. Drag the stool away from the entrance and head inside to find the creature near another lantern.
Candle Location #1
When Six is trying to evade the Guests’ hands on the long table, stop at the beginning and light a candle.
Lantern Location #3
After using the elevator to go to the upper floor, walk towards the end of the corridor near the camera and ignite the lantern.
Lantern Location #4
Once the long chase is over and Six has successfully run away from the Guests, approach the corner to light the last lantern.
