The game features 15 playable characters, with some already unlocked from the get-go, while others require completion. It’s also worth noting that the Phoenix, Venom, Phyla-Vell, and Silver Surfer are all unlocked after defeating them as bosses during the respective missions.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion also features iconic villains from the Marvel Universe, such as Hela, Thanos, Taskmaster, and Modok, among others, but they’re not playable. So, you’ll need to stick with the heroes and complete all the missions in the game.
How to Level up Characters in Marvel Cosmic Invasion?
The heroes that are unlocked from the start in Marvel Cosmic Invasion can be leveled up from the very first stage itself. Once you clear a stage, the heroes that you’ve picked for that mission will level up, depending on your performance. However, it’s also worth noting that the characters that aren’t unlocked by default will require some leveling up, too.

Even though they’re unlocked at later missions in the campaign, they’ll start fresh instead of having multiple levels already. So, if you’re a fan of Venom and want to clear the later stages with him, you must level him up beforehand; otherwise, he can’t complete the mission.
