All teams will qualify for The International 2025 via direct invites.
The International 2025 will mark the return of the Dota 2 extravaganza to Germany for the first time since the inaugural version was held at GamesCom in 2011. However, the tournament has undergone several changes and modifications to its structure and format, including the process by which teams advance to the championship.
Since the removal of the Dota Pro Circuit, the majority of teams are given a direct invite based on their performance throughout the year leading up to TI. Additionally, there used to be regional qualifiers, allowing teams a last chance to qualify for the championship even if the remainder of their season had not been up to par. However, even that has been changed to ensure that all participating teams receive a direct invitation without any last-chance qualifiers.
Here’s everything you need to know about the qualified teams for The International 2025.
Qualified teams for The International 2025
Ever since the removal of the DPC, the qualification of teams has remained a mystery for The International. The list of teams invited for the tournament is revealed by Valve only closer to the tournament.
Given that this year’s tournament is scheduled to be held from Sept. 4 to 14, we still have a few months and a few big tournaments leading up to TI. While a few teams have consistently performed at the top level and are almost guaranteed to receive an invitation, the upcoming tournaments could turn the tide for some of the other teams and secure them a direct entry into the tournament.
Since the only way to qualify for the tournament is via a direct invitation, these upcoming tournaments will play a significant role in ensuring qualification for TI14. However, here are some of the teams that look most likely to be the first teams to receive an invite based on their performance throughout the season:
- Team Spirit
- Team Liquid
- BetBoom Team
- Team Falcons
- Tundra Esports
- PARIVISION
Apart from these teams, some other teams to watch out for, who might claw their way to an invite with their performance in the upcoming tournaments, include:
- Aurora Gaming
- Gaimin Gladiators
- Nigma Galaxy
- AVULUS
- Virtus.pro
- Team Tidebound
It will be interesting to see which of these teams eventually makes their way into the tournament. We will update this page as soon as the official invites for TI14 in Hamburg, Germany, are announced.
