Gadgets are useful tools in ARC Raiders that can help in traversal, tactical, and combat encounters. In total, the game has 11 gadgets to find and use, each serving a different purpose for the player. While all gadgets can be useful in certain situations, not all of them are created equal, and some are much more valuable than others.

Just like all materials and items in ARC Raiders, each gadget falls under the Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary tiers. Some can be crafted at a workbench, some can be purchased from traders, while some can only be found during a match and looting.

This list will cover all gadgets in ARC Raiders and put them into a ranked list, from least to most useful. It’s important to keep in mind that what you find more useful may be different from my preference, since gadgets really boil down to your specific playstyle.

11 Recorder

Not Very Useful

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

While the recorder is an Uncommon gadget in ARC Raiders, it’s not very useful and is pretty much a meme at this point. Even the description is sort of a joke, which reads: «a playable recordeer used to attract ARC’s attention, and impress other Raiders.» The first part of that description is serious, where you can use it to distract ARC, but the second part of «impressing other Raiders» makes it more of a joke.

The only situation where I ever see the Recorder being useful is when you are out of bullets and want to distract ARC, who may be honing in on your teammates’ locations. In other words, it can be a good way to save your teammates from being ambushed by ARC, but besides that, there’s no real point in bringing it into a match. Personally, I recommend just selling it for extra coin.

10 Light Sticks

Useful in the Dark

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

Light Sticks can be used to light up the surrounding area, helping you see better during Night Raids. This can either be used to see other Raiders better, or light up a dark room better than your flashlight. Light Sticks come in four different colors: Green, Red, Blue, Yellow. All of them have the same effect, except the color of the illumination changes depending on the Light Stick that you throw.

Light Sticks can be great against other players who are shooting at you from the shadows, and you simply are too far away to see them. Throwing a perfectly aimed Light Stick will brighten up the area around those players, giving you a better chance at dealing damage to them. If you’re interested in adding Light Sticks to your inventory, you can easily purchase them from Apollo for only 450 coins.

9 Binoculars

Spot Enemies From a Distance

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

Binoculars are exactly what they sound like. This gadget grants you the ability to see from very far away, allowing you to survey the area for any surrounding ARC or PvP players. You’ll then be able to tag these enemies with the pinging system, alerting your teammates of any potential threats nearby. You can also use the Binoculars to examine the area around an extraction point and see if there is a dangerous enemy around it, such as a Leeper or Grenadier.

The Binoculars can be great for players who enjoy taking a tactical approach during matches in ARC Raiders. Luckily, Binoculars are one of the easiest gadgets to find, and can even be crafted at the Utility Station for a measly 8x Plastic Parts and 4x Rubber Parts, which are abundant in all matches. While I personally don’t use the Binoculars very often in my matches, I can definitely see the potential, so go ahead and test it out.

8 Remote Raider Flare

Trick Other Players

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

While the Remote Raider Flare isn’t the best gadget in ARC Raiders, it can be useful in certain situations. Whenever a player is downed, a flare is automatically shot into the sky, notifying other players of the downed Raider’s location. So, in this case, a Remote Raider Flare can be a good way to trick other players and make them believe that someone is down nearby.

This can either be a good way to throw PvP players off your scent, giving you room to run the other way and find a place of safety, or can be used to attract them to your location so you can take them out. For example, in one of my matches, my squad and I used three Remote Raider Flares, making another team believe that all three of us were downed. When the other team came to loot our bodies, we jumped out and defeated them all.

7 Zipline

Great for Traversal

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

The Zipline is a useful gadget for traversal and can help you get from one building to the next, without having to return to the ground floor and travel by foot. Bringing multiple into a match is smart, as it will help you clear out and gather loot from more buildings much quicker. For example, once you’re done looting a building, go to the roof and place the Zipline down to travel to the next building, and then repeat the process.

The only downfall of a Zipline is that it can leave you and your teammates exposed when riding it. You don’t move very fast on it, and if another player or ARC spots you, there’s a good chance you will be taking some damage. This is especially true during the day, when it’s easy to spot enemies from a distance. However, the Zipline doesn’t make much noise when riding it, so you don’t have to worry about being loud and attracting attention.

6 Barricade Kit

Can Save You in a Pinch

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

Most players aren’t using the Barricade Kit in ARC Raiders, but honestly, they should start. This gadget allows players to create a barricade, blocking all incoming bullets from ARC and other players. This can be useful in situations where you can’t find any cover and the enemy has begun firing shots at you. Creating this barricade will allow you to get cover, where you can protect yourself, but also peak out from to locate the enemy and fire back.

Keep in mind that the Barricade Kit can break, meaning you have limited time and should probably figure out your next move before that happens. Besides cover, you can use the Barricade Kit as a way to slow down the opponent, especially if you place it in a narrow hallway. Other players will have to climb over it or destroy it, giving you some time to flee to safety.

5 Door Blocker

Slow Down Other Players

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

The Door Blocker in ARC raiders comes in handy in both combat and looting situations. This gadget allows players to place a metal contraption across a steel door, limiting access to other players. This has helped me escape from combat encounters in facilities where I was outnumbered in PvP and was on the brink of my death. Placing a Door Blocker on a door prevents other players from rushing in, buying you time to escape.

The Door Blocker can also be valuable when it comes to looting, as you can prevent other players from coming in and sneaking up on you. In other words, you’ll be able to take your time searching through all the drawers, without worrying that nearby players may come in and attack. I’m surprised that the Door Blocker is rated a «common» item due to how helpful it can be.

4 Noisemaker

A Great Way to Prepare for Combat

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

The Noisemaker may just be all you need to get a jump on other players and get the first shots off. The Noisemaker is a deployable proximity sensor that sounds an alarm when enemy Raiders are detected. Placing this gadget in a hidden spot, in a place where another player won’t see, shoot and destroy it, will alert you that another player has entered the same building you’re in. This allows you to prepare for combat, instead of the element of surprise.

The only unfortunate aspect of the Noisemaker is that it doesn’t have the farthest scanning distance, so sometimes other Raiders will go undetected. However, a smartly placed Noisemaker, such as right next to a d door, will detect any other player coming through said door. I recommend bringing multiple Noisemakers and placing multiple down near each other (around 10m apart), increasing the scanning distance.

3 Raider Hatch Key

A Quicker Way to Extract

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

The Raider Hatch Key can be your saving grace at the end of a match in ARC Raiders, as it allows you to enter a Raider Hatch. A Raider Hatch is another way to extract, and is much quicker than waiting for the elevator. All you do is use the key on the Raider Hatch terminal, and the door instantly opens, allowing you to climb a ladder back down to Speranza.

The Raider Hatch Key is perfect for players who prefer staying for the entire duration of the match and extract at the last second. There’s no time limit on Raider Hatches, meaning you don’t have to keep an eye on a clock, but it is important to note that they only stay open for 15 seconds after inputting the key. Also, since most players use the elevator as a way to extract, there will be a smaller chance of getting bombarded by enemy players when leaving the map.

2 Photoelectric Cloak

Go Undetected By ARC

ARC Raiders: All Gadgets, Ranked

The Photoelectric Cloak is an Epic-tier gadget that allows the user to conceal themselves from ARC. In other words, it can be extremely helpful in situations where you are forced to maneuver around ARC. This can save you from notifying big and deadly enemies such as Grenadier and Bastion, which when caught by them in an open field, you are most likely going to get killed.

Even though the Photoelectric Cloak is one of the best gadgets in ARC Raiders, it does, however, have a downside. When wearing the cloak, it makes a loud beeping noise when being used, which can possibly alert other players’ of your position. Additionally, the Photoelectric Cloak has a usage bar that refills gradually, meaning you can’t go the entire match with its effect active.
