ARC Raiders will see you delving into various maps to scavenge items that you’ll need. While that is the main goal, there are some quests for you to do on those maps.
One such quest is With A Trace, a quest that will have you travel to Blue Gate to find answers. There is an overarching story here that you’ll get the bits and pieces of as you finish these quests.
This guide will cover how to start and complete this quest. Given that there’s limited information on finding these objectives, it can be difficult to actually finish, but with this guide, you’ll find it in no time.
How to Start With A Trace
To get With A Trace, there are a few hoops you’ll have to jump through. First, you’ll need to unlock Blue Gate and be able to start a mission there, which happens after you’ve played 18 rounds on other maps. Second, you’ll need to complete the quest Reduced to Rubble.
It’ll pop up the second you turn in Reduced to Rubble, so you can easily jump back into another game and knock it out. You’ll just have to accept the quest from Shani before going topside.
How to Complete With A Trace
With A Trace is another four-part quest you’ll go on that’ll have you exploring some areas in Blue Gate. The areas are near each other, but there’s a lot of wreckage, so it can be hard to find things.
Your first goal is to head to the Barren Clearing to find an ARC machine to investigate. There’s just one little problem: Barren Clearing is absolutely massive.
ARC Machine — Barren Clearing
If you head right to the Barren Clearing marked location on your map, you should see an object sitting in the middle of the clearing next to a Baron Husk. The small ball on the side of it is what you’re after for this one.
Once you’ve done what you need to, you can head southward toward the Adorned Wreckage. Your quest should change shortly after interacting with the object, so you’ll want to be off to your next objective quickly.
Communications Device — Adorned Wreckage
This is the much more dangerous of the two objectives. To grab this one, you’ll have to get uncomfortably to a Leaper, and if you aggro them, you’ll want to run as fast as you can.
This one is directly in the lettering for the Adorned Wreckage area, but the harder part is getting to it rather than finding it. You should see a yellow flag under a radar dish, and the small golden console under that will be what you’re after.
This area has pretty decent loot, so if you can, I suggest grabbing some. There is a supply drop right by this objective, just in case you need some ammo or gear.
After interacting with this objective and gathering whatever loot you want, I suggest you make a fast break to the nearest available extraction point. There are a lot of ARCs crawling around, and you wouldn’t want to lose everything to them.
With A Trace Rewards
Just like with every quest, you’ll get some rewards to make your next journey topside a little easier. This quest has only two rewards, but they are pretty great.
When you return to Speranza, no matter what way, you’ll speak to Shani to turn in your quest and get the following rewards:
- Looting Mk. 2 Augment
- Medium Shield
While not the most illustrious loot in ARC Raiders, if you’re still trying to find your footing, these can be a big help. Since both of these are crafted at upgraded workshop stations, they can be very useful if you don’t have them already.
