Ubisoft has announced a new Assassin’s Creed project, but it’s not a new game or movie. Instead, the series is leaping onto the stage for a theatre production.

It’s an exciting time to be an Assassin’s Creed fan, with the Black Flag remake coming on July 9, and rumors that the original game is getting the same treatment. Now, another entry in the franchise has been confirmed for 2026, but in a form no one expected.

On May 5, Ubisoft revealed Heredis, a new stage show set within the Assassin’s Creed universe that “blends acrobatics, parkour, theatre, and history into a powerful new stage experience.”

According to the show’s official website, the production focuses on a new character named Naël, whose father mysteriously disappeared, which then leads him to a programme that sends him back through history.

“On his 25th birthday, a mysterious letter leads him into the HEREDIS program,” the website reads. “With his allies, Naël faces a series of trials across different historical eras in a quest to find his father…”

This is said to be a totally original story that is “inspired by the world and themes of the franchise,” and doesn’t require any prior knowledge of the games. However, there will be plenty of references for long-time fans to pick up on.

Little else is known about the project or how closely it will connect to the Templars or the Animus, which have been focal points of virtually every game.

Heredis is due to premiere on December 3, 2026, in Montreal before heading to Paris on January 21, 2027, and tickets are on sale now. The show will be performed in French, and it hasn’t been confirmed if it will be coming to other countries later down the line.
