After the father-son climax that closed the last Baki saga, the manga’s world doesn’t stay quiet for long. BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai brings a new, strange threat. Japan’s greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi, is brought back into the modern world by human hands. And he wants a fight. The show is scheduled to air on February 26, 2026.

Netflix will stream the full season at once, sending Baki Hanma and the underground fighting scene into a collision with a single-minded samurai whose rules of combat are the opposite of today’s bare-knuckle brutality. Fans can expect intense, close-quarters fights, a clash of philosophies, and a return of familiar voices. Plus a few surprises in the English dub.

What Is Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai?

Baki-Dou, or BAKI-DOU’s central hook, is simple and brutal. It is about a legendary swordsman from Japan’s past who meets the strongest living unarmed fighters. The anime adapts Keisuke Itagaki’s BAKI-DOU manga material and sets the resurrected Musashi Miyamoto against modern fighters who train to break bones with their hands, not blades.

The latest release begins after the huge Hanma family showdown. Baki and many underground fighters are recovering from the aftermath, and the sudden appearance of Musashi rewrites the map: where strength was once ruled by force, there is now the precision and discipline of the sword. Expect matchups between Baki and Musashi that test not only physical limits but also tactical thinking. Plus, the philosophical question of what “victory” means when your opponent honors a code the modern world forgot will be crucial in this series.

According to Netflix’s official announcements, Musashi’s return is the result of a secret experiment. It is staged in the shadow of Tokyo Skytree, and that revives the samurai to test whether ancient swordcraft still rules in a world of raw physical strength. That clash of eras is what gives the season a clear dramatic engine. Because it’s less about tournament brackets and more about contrasting philosophies of combat.

Netflix will premiere all 13 episodes worldwide on February 26, 2026. The platform’s announcement and the promotional material make clear the series is launching as a Netflix exclusive drop, so subscribers can binge the full first cour upon release. Meanwhile, the production is handled by TMS Entertainment.

The names leading the confirmed Japanese cast are the ones fans want to hear: Nobunaga Shimazaki will reprise Baki Hanma, Akio Ōtsuka returns as Yujiro Hanma, and Naoya Uchida has been announced as the voice of Miyamoto Musashi. Those three anchor the core conflict, which circles around Baki’s raw, evolving strength versus Musashi’s centuries-old mastery with the blade.

Now, the English dub has some notable names. Netflix’s Tudum page confirms a prepared English dub will be available at launch. For English-language casting, Troy Baker is listed as the English voice of Baki, and SungWon Cho is announced as the voice of Musashi in the English dub.

The Tudum piece also teases several cameo voice appearances from public personalities and well-known streamers. These English-dubbed cameos include The Miz, Nolan Hansen, Charles White Jr. (aka Cr1tikal), Lena Lemon, and Matt Mercer.

To round it up, WANIMA recorded the opening theme song, Furuboku. Netflix confirms that the band wrote the song, keeping in mind Musashi’s arc and the philosophy that one’s life is no less than a battle in itself. Meanwhile, Novel Core composed, wrote, and performed the ending theme song, Mountain Top, which is based on Baki’s ambition and the cost of becoming the greatest in what one does.

More Details About the BAKI Franchise

Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai: Release Date, Voice Cast, Plot and Everything We Know  14

BAKI is a long-running fighting manga by Keisuke Itagaki, published in several consecutive parts since 1991. If you want to jump into BAKI but feel lost by all the manga parts and anime seasons, this is for you. Baki started as a simple punch-hard, grow-louder fight manga and slowly grew into a huge, weird world of super-strong fighters, strange tournaments, and now a Netflix anime that keeps coming.

Here are the main series, in order:

  • Baki the Grappler (1991–1999) — the original run that built the world and characters.
  • Baki (1999–2005) — the direct sequel that keeps the action rolling.
  • Baki Hanma (sometimes called Son of Ogre) (2005–2012) — focuses on Baki’s family.
  • Baki-Dō (2014–2018) — the arc adapted as The Invincible Samurai.
  • Bakidou (2018–2023) — continues the saga under a slightly different styling of the title.
  • Baki Rahen (started 2023) — the most recent ongoing series in the same universe.
  • 1994 OVA — a short, early animation. It’s optional, but it shows how the franchise started to move off the page.
  • Baki the Grappler (2001 TV) — a two-part TV series that adapted early manga arcs.
  • BAKI (Netflix, 2018 & 2020) — the modern reboot on Netflix and covers major early arcs.
  • Baki Hanma (Netflix, 2021 & 2023) — adapts the Hanma arc and focuses on Baki’s relationship with his father.
  • Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura (2024) — a Netflix crossover film that brought together fighters from two big franchises.
  • BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai (2026) — the newest anime adaptation, made by TMS Entertainment and set to premiere on February 26, 2026, on Netflix. It adapts the Musashi arc and runs for 13 episodes.

If you want a smooth path that follows the manga story, start with Baki the Grappler, then read Baki, Baki Hanma, Baki-Dō, Bakidou, and finally Baki Rahen. This follows the narrative properly.
