Ballard Trailer: Maggie Q Stars in Bosch Prime Video Spin-off

Amazon MGM Studios has finally shared the Ballard trailer for the upcoming Bosch spin-off. The newest police procedural series is slated to make its debut on Wednesday, July 9 on Prime Video with all ten of its episodes. This comes after more than two months since the Titus Welliver-led show Bosch: Legacy concluded its three-season run on Freevee.

“It follows Detective Renée Ballard, who is tasked with running the LAPD’s new cold-case unit — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest caseload in the city,” reads the logline. “Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination. When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she’ll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch, to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.”

Who is in the Ballard trailer?

The video features the return of Maggie Q as Detective Renée Ballard, who will be running her own cold-cast unit. This marks Q’s first major TV project as the lead after nearly a decade since the short-lived crime drama series Stalker. It also teases the guest-starring appearance of franchise vet Titus Welliver, who will be reprising his role as Harry Bosch. The cast includes John Carroll Lynch, Rebecca Field, Michael Mosley, Amy Hill, Victoria Moroles, Courtney Taylor, Hector Hugo, Noah Bean, Michael Cassidy, and more.

The spin-off is based on Michael Connelly’s Bosch novels. The show is executive produced by Connelly, Michael Alaimo, Kendall Sherwood, Trish Hofmann, Henrik Bastin, Melissa Aouate, Jasmine Russ, Jamie Boscardin Martin, Trey Batchelor, and Theresa Snider. It is a production from Amazon MGM Studios.
