Battlefield 6 has a new option to let players pre-order the next battle pass early, before the cosmetics have even been revealed.
Despite launching to positive reviews, it’s fair to say that Battlefield 6 has struggled since then. The player count has dipped significantly, and even the release of the Redsec battle royale mode hasn’t managed to revive it.
The devs have spent recent months trying to address some of the concerns fans have with the shooter by adding more maps and announcing a server browser.
But with Season 3 around the corner, EA has also added the option to pre-order the new battle pass early.
BF6 asks players to buy Season 3 battle pass before it’s revealed
The Season 3 update arrives on May 12, which will bring another battle pass full of items, but players noticed a game notification that gave them the chance to buy it ahead of time.
Committing to the new BP early doesn’t affect the price, as it’s still 1,100 Battlefield Coins for the standard version, or $24.99 for Battlefield Pro, which unlocks the battle pass as well as 25 tier skips and exclusive cosmetics.

There are some small incentives for buying it early, including a couple of additional tier skips, and the standard edition comes with a free “Verdant” Weapon Package for the L110. The Pro token also has the Cobra Fang P18. Then, if you buy either one now, the battle pass is automatically unlocked as soon as Season 3 starts.
Pre-ordering a full game is nothing new, as players have been buying titles early for decades. However, being asked to spend money on a battle pass full of cosmetics is much less common, especially when you consider that players haven’t seen what’s included yet.

Everything we know about Battlefield RedSec – BF6’s battle royale
Of course, this will make more sense for Battlefield die-hards who are going to buy the battle pass and grind it to completion anyway, and there’s no reason to pre-order unless you desperately want the extra weapon cosmetics.
