As great as Xbox Game Pass is, not every game is available forever. Just this month, the news that MLB The Show 25 won’t be available on Game Pass was met with disappointment.
Normally, games depart the Game Pass library on the 15th and final day of the month. This month is seeing seven games leave the Xbox Game Pass library on April 15th:
- Botany Manor
- Coral Island
- Harold Halibut
- Homestead Arcana
- Kona
- Orcs Must Die! 3
- Turbo Golf Racing
There were supposed to be eight games leaving Game Pass on April 15th, though, not seven. One of those games is a sequel to a title published by Microsoft Game Studios: 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is Not Leaving Xbox Game Pass
The game was first added to the Game Pass library in April 2024. The official post from Xbox Wire indicates that Shadow of the Tomb Raider was «included in error» from the list of games leaving this month.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the second of three entries in the franchise following 2013’s reboot. Square Enix served as the publisher for the 2013 release, but Microsoft had to step in with 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider was originally an Xbox exclusive when it first launched in November 2015. It was released for PC and PlayStation 4 in 2016. Square Enix Europe handled publishing duties for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the most recent release in the franchise.
The Tomb Raider franchise has been focused on remastered collections over the past three years. The Lara Croft Collection release in 2023, with Tomb Raider I-III Remastered and Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered launching in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
Currently, there are only two Tomb Raider games on Xbox Game Pass: Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and 2013’s Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.
