So you’ve maxed Melee, Ranged, and Magic—and you’re looking to gear up, do more bosses, and maybe AFK your way to a pile of loot. Necromancy is obviously the top dog right now, but let’s say you’ve already dipped your toes into Necro, or you’re just curious about what’s next.
Here’s how the rest of the combat styles stack up (roughly), based on power, cost, and how sweaty you want to get.
Quick Ranking (Ignoring Necro)
1. Ranged
Big DPS, lots of potential at the top end. But also expensive, high-maintenance, and depends on luck (hello crits). You’ll be swapping weapons, praying your arrows land right, and juggling cooldowns like a circus act.
2. Magic
Still strong and a little more chill. Good mid-range option, but upkeep can be annoying thanks to the Grimoire. If you’ve got Greater Concentrated Blast and know your rotations, you’ll be fine. Still feels solid, but not top-tier anymore.
3. Melee
Cheap and tanky, but slow. Needs a lot of switching to shine, and even then it lags behind. Has potential to bounce back depending on upcoming beta changes, but right now it’s mostly a budget option or just for fun.
Why Necromancy Is Still #1
Let’s be honest:
-
It’s super easy to learn.
-
It’s cheap compared to other styles.
-
The sustain is wild (passive healing, foodless bosses).
-
Damage is solid and consistent.
It’s not just about raw numbers but convenience as well. You can chill with Necro and still pull off great kills.
Final Blurb
If you’re not min-maxing or chasing world records, all four styles can get the job done. Necro is the easiest and has broken records. Ranged is the most explosive (and expensive). Magic is reliable. Melee is… trying its best. Use whatever you enjoy most—but if you want the meta path, go Necro > Ranged > Magic > Melee, and don’t look back.
