The best Relics and Relic effects to use in Nightreign.
The best Relics in Nightreign can help make or break an expedition, so it’s important that you use them. The Relics available to you only become better as time goes on and progress is made in Limveld, so you also want to make sure you’re checking your Relic loadouts regularly in Nightreign so that they’re as useful as can be.
Of course, the best Relics can also be situational, depending on the Nightfarer they’re being equipped to or the Nightlord they’re being used against. Even with that in mind, however, there are plenty of Relics and Relic effects that stand out among the crowd. To help you with deciding with Relics to use, here are the best Nightreign Relics and Relic effects.

Best Nightreign Relics
As previously mentioned, the best Relics in Nightreign can be situational. Even if you have loadouts galore for your Nightfarers, you still want to check your Relic Rites before using a new Nightfarer or facing a new Nightlord, as there’s every chance there may be a different Relic in your possession that is better for the task at hand.

That said, however, there are plenty of Relics that are useful regardless of what expedition you’re embarking on in Nightreign, but there’s one thing to take note of first; many Relics in Nightreign feature randomly-generated passive effects and thus, cannot be guaranteed.
While defeating Nightlords, completing Remembrance Quests, and spending Murk or Sovereign Sigils at the Small Jar Bazaar and Collector’s Signboard respectively will bag you some fixed Relics (distinct Relics with unique, universal effects that all players can receive), the majority of your Relics – and their effects – will be completely random.
With that in mind, we’ve divided this guide up into two sections: the best fixed Relics that every player can use, and the best Relic effects to look out for when collecting randomly-generated Relics. If you bag a randomly-generated Relic that has at least two of these desired effects, favourite it!
If you happen to be wondering how to line your inventory with more Relics, here’s how to get Relics in Nightreign.
Best fixed Relics in Nightreign
Fixed Relics in Nightreign are unique Relics with pre-determined effects that you’ll get from defeating Nightlords, completing Remembrance quests, or by purchasing them directly from the Small Jar Bazaar or Collector Signboard.
The effects of these particular Relics are not randomised and all players are guaranteed to get the below Relics one way or another. Of course, some of these fixed Relics are better than others, and ones that you should always be prepared to use are as follows:
| Relic | Relic Effects | How to Get |
|---|---|---|
| Night of the Baron | Great for Critical Hit builds.
|
Defeat Gaping Jaws |
| Night of the Wise | Great for those who want to guarantee Poison damage/status effect (even greater for FP users).
|
Defeat Sentient Pest |
| Night of the Fathom | Great for supportive builds that use items often i.e. Scholar.
|
Defeat Augur |
| Dark Night of the Miasma | An ideal Relic for Duchess, especially if you equip Relics that boost Affinity Attacks alongside it.
|
Defeat Everdark Sovereign Fissure in the Fog |
| Night of the Lord | A for-fun, offensive Relic that is ideal for players who are constantly switching weapons i.e. Ironeye mains.
|
Defeat the Night Aspect |
| Grand Burning Scene | A helpful Relic for Rune acquisition.
|
Small Jar Bazaar, 1000 Murk |
| Grand Luminous Scene | This Relic is even better if all your allies have it equipped, allowing you to rush evergaols for attack power.
|
Collector Signboard, 3x Sovereign Sigils |
| Grand Drizzly Scene | A top-tier Relic for Wylder, especially if you can kit him out with more Affinity Attack passives.
|
Collector Signboard, 3x Sovereign Sigils |
| Grand Burning Scene | A top-tier Relic for Ironeye, allowing him to deal Poison damage with his Art and deal more damage as a result of it. This pairs nicely with Night of the Wise.
|
Collector Signboard, 3x Sovereign Sigils |
| Grand Tranquil Scene | A Relic ideal for Magic-users, Recluse and Duchess, but more notably Recluse, who relies on staves and the Sorcerer’s Rise POI.
|
Collector Signboard, 3x Sovereign Sigils |
| Blessed Iron Coin | A Relic that can boost Duchess’ attack power by significant amounts if used carefully.
|
Complete Duchess’ Remembrance Quest |
| Edge of Order | A very strong Relic for improving Ironeye’s attack power.
|
Complete Ironeye’s Remembrance Quest |
| Black Claw Necklace | A strong Relic for Raider, or anyone on a team with Raider that requires more Poise.
|
Complete Raider’s Remembrance Quest |
| Stone Stake | Arguably a must-have for Guardian and improving his Skill.
|
Complete Guardian’s Remembrance Quest |

Best Relic effects in Nightreign
When you aren’t using fixed Relics in Nightreign, your expeditions – successful or unsuccessful – will see you rewarded with Relics that have randomly-generated effects. You can also purchase these randomly-generated Relics from the Small Jar Bazaar or Collector Signboard if you fancy, but I recommend saving your hard-earned Murk or Sovereign Sigils for other items or cosmetics, seeing as you get plenty of free Relics for playing the game as it is.
While these Relics are random and may often come with undesired effects, there are some Relic effects to always be on the lookout for, as they can be useful for specific Nightfarer’s or tackling specific Nightlords.
Relic effects to be on the lookout for when lining your pockets with randomly-generated Relics in Nightreign are as follows:
| Relic Effect | Effect Explained |
|---|---|
| [Attribute] +3 | Examples include Arcane +3 or Strength +3. These boost an attribute of the Nightfarer it is equipped to by +3, allowing you to make the most of that stat (or make use of it in general, if applied to a Nightfarer that doesn’t have high scaling with that stat). Additionally, Arcane +3 is always useful, as this increases your ability to apply status effects and discover new items. |
| Flask Also Heals Allies | Upon using your Flask, it’ll also heal nearby allies, which is incredibly useful for supportive characters in trios or duos. |
| Items confer effect to all nearby allies | Another Relic effect ideal for supporting characters – especially those using consumable items – as it allows the entire team to benefit if the item is used within close range of them. |
| [Nightfarer]-specific Effects | There are a huge range of Relic effects that are locked to specific Nightfarers, and more often than not, these are worth using. For example, Wylder’s ‘Art activation spreads fire in area’ or Duchess’s ‘defeating enemies while Art is active ups attack power’ are great options. |
| Improved Attack Power with 3+ [specific weapons] equipped OR Improved [specific weapon] Attack Power |
When equipped to a Nightfarer who utilises the listed weapon, the first effect listed is a free boost to attack power if luck is on your side and you can gather enough Greatswords, Staves, or whatever weapon it is that you need for this Relic effect to become active. The second effect listed is a guaranteed boost to the attack power of that weapon type, so if you can find two of these effects that compliment one another, you’ll wind up with a very powerful set of weapons to use. |
| Attack power permanently increased for each evergaol prisoner defeated | A personal favourite, as not only do evergaols provide a nice Rune injection, but this effect allows each prisoner defeated to boost your attack power too. |
| Starting armament deals X damage OR Changes compatible armaments skill to X at start of expedition |
These two Relic effects can be very useful for guaranteeing you have at least one weapon with an affinity that a Nightlord is weak to during each expedition (and can also be useful for guaranteeing Recluse has everything she needs for her Magic Cocktail). I personally favourite any Relics that have these effects so I can quickly kit a Nightfarer out with a Poison, Fire, or Frost armament etc. if need be. |
| Attack power up when facing frostbite/rot/poison-afflicted enemy | These Relic effects are situational, and will largely depend on what build you plan on going for. If you’re going into an expedition with an armament that can apply Poison or Frost, then it’s worth bringing this Relic effect with you too. |
| Improved Character Skill Attack Power, Character Skill Cooldown Reduction +3 OR Additional Character Skill Use |
All of these Relic effects are incredibly useful for any Nightfarer whose Skill you are using a lot, such as Duchess, Revenant, or Raider. These allow you to increase how often you use said Skills and the damage that they deal when equipped. |
