Best Road to Vostok graphics settings for no lag and max FPS

It can always be better.

Single-dev project Road to Vostok is now out on PC in early access, and there’s a fair number of visual settings you can tweak to get the best possible results. Compared to the earlier versions of the demo, the day-one performances seem to be much improved.

However, you can still make some further tweaks to remove any stutters you might encounter.

Best graphics settings in Road to Vostok

Before I deep dive into the settings, here’s my current setup and its components.

  • AMD Ryzen 5600G
  • 16 GB of DDR5 RAM
  • 12 GB Nvidia RTX 3060

Here are the settings that I am currently using to run the game.

  • Display: Fullscreen
  • frames: 60
  • Vsync: Off
  • Render Resolution: Medium
  • Lighting Quality: Medium
  • Anti-aliasing: MSAA 4X/Off
  • Detail Shadows: Off
  • Water Reflection: On
  • Ambient Occlusion: Off

Here’s a bit of an explainer about the settings that I have opted for.

  • Frames: There are options to go 120 or higher, which also includes Unlimited. However, I have opted for 60 FPS as it ensures no lag on my setup. I wish there were a 90 FPS option, but I endured a few stutters. Once there are a few more patches in the future, try to use a different option.
  • Vsync: Since you can’t cap the FPS with VSync on, I have turned it off. You’ll lose very little while reducing the load on your hardware.
  • Anti-aliasing: I have opted for the default MSAA 4X, and the performances have been smooth. If you encounter lag, you should disable it to smoothen the load.

While the overall performances are pretty smooth, I am expecting a few post-launch patches to improve the gameplay and other parts of Road to Vostok, and there will be new content during early access.
