Update: We’ve updated all of the information on this page to be current with Blue Lock Rivals’ Don Lorenzo update.
Blue Lock Rivals is like a cross between the ever-popular football anime and manga, Blue Lock, and Rocket League, where two teams of 5 players face off in a small-sided soccer game filled with over-the-top skills and abilities.
The most important ability in Blue Lock Rivals though is your Style.
Styles in Blue Lock Rivals determine the kind of player your avatar is based on from the anime, and each one has different specialities and signature moves.
There are adaptable, well-balanced forward players like the manga’s MC, Yoichi Isagi, but there are many others to choose from as well. There are now five rarities of Styles: Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic and World Class.
Naturally, World Class Styles are the best in Blue Lock Rivals — however, the more common styles definitely have their uses. Many of the Mythic Styles are also extremely good, but as you work up to that point in the game, there are some more common Styles which punch above their weight.
For example, Chigiri’s style is extremely good for both offense and defence because the huge speed boost allows you to cover ground quickly and the stamina boost allows you to run faster and longer than most of your opponents. Whatever level you’re playing at, this always gives you a huge advantage.

Blue Lock Rivals Best Styles
When you’ve only got a limited amount of spins and slots for your Styles, you need to know when to stick and when to spin for something better.
You might always expect the World Class Styles to always be the best because they’ve got more abilities but some of the Mythics are good in the meta too.
The best offensive Styles in Blue Lock Rivals for strikers are Kaiser, Shidou and the upgraded NEL Isagi.
Kaiser is brilliant because he gives you the versatility of both a powerful movement ability and a strong scoring shot with incredible range. What’s more, being able to chain Emperor’s Dribble into the IMPACT shot in one fell swoop makes you a very dangerous attacker who’s difficult to tackle in the final third.
Shidou on the other hand, has two very good scoring abilities which make you a deadly striker with lots of different options. Dragon Drive takes you up into the air, away from tackling defenders, which is what makes this Style the best. However, Dragon Header is also good because it comes out fast and scores fast too.
The Nation Egoist League version of Blue Lock’s MC, Isagi, called NEL Isagi, is an interesting offensive choice. This is because he incorporates some tactics from real life football to lead the defence from the front with his great pressing abilities. His Lefty Shot allows him to quickly nick the ball away from defenders looking to clear the ball, while his other shooting abilities are solid enough on their own.
This goes without mentioning his extremely strong Metavision speed boost, which not only lets you contribute both offensively and defensively, but also allows you to see your own hitbox and avoid being tackled more easily.
Newer players looking to play striker with easier to roll players should look for Bachira, Nagi or King.
The best Styles in Blue Lock Rivals for midfielders are Sae, Don Lorenzo, Kunigami and Yukimiya.
For midfield maestros, Sae’s passing ability is unmatched on the ball, but it’s how he melds this with incredibly good tackling and movement which makes him top tier. He can truly do it all.
Similarly, Don Lorenzo is supposed to be a defender, but his movement is so good that he can win the ball back and progress it very quickly and easily, reducing the need for pin-point passing.
And rounding off the trio, Kunigami is not just incredible at winning the ball back, but, after offloading to a teammate and making his way forward, is also extremely capable of finishing off moves with lighting-powered shooting.
Newer players looking for easier to roll midfielders should try Karasu and Kurona.
The best Styles in Blue Lock Rivals for defenders are Kunigami, Don Lorenzo and Aiku.
As above, Kunigami is a fast and powerful player who offers brutal defence and uncompromising shooting power. Because of this dual-use, he’s one of the best both at the back and in midfield.
This is the same for Don Lorenzo, who turns defence into attack with ease.
Aiku is a Mythic-rarity Defender in Blue Lock Rivals, with a kit that is focused on preventing the opposing team from scoring rather than scoring goals for yourself. Using Aiku’s abilities effectively requires a little bit of experience to ensure you’re not aimlessly charging into opposing players, but when played correctly, you’re able to kick the ball from the opposing team using Forced Defense, steal it with Charge, and defend against midair score-attempts with Serpent Interception.
Easier to pull defenders include Bachira, Kurona and Karasu.
The best Style for goalkeepers in Blue Lock Rivals is Gagamaru. It’s no surprise that the dedicated goalkeeper Style is the best for that position, but it’s worth knowing that there is actually a specific Style for playing in net. The main ability is Super Reaction Speed, which only activates while you’re in your own area. This lets you move very quickly around your area to block shots. Alternatively you can use the Scorpion Kick ability to clear a loose ball, or you can try and play sweeper keeper and use diving header to get to a loose ball first.
However, at higher levels the newer Styles Don Lorenzo and Aiku are preferred as goalkeepers because they can clear aerial balls while also contributing more in build-up.
