This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 23 dropped recently, and it certainly delivered as far as action is concerned. It showcased what can be called the greatest action sequence in the manga so far, as the incredible fight between Boruto Uzumaki and Jura continued.

At the same time, fans also got to see great development in terms of the story moving forward, as Kawaki finally joined the battle. Normally, Kawaki’s joining wouldn’t have changed all that much, but due to a big revelation by Kashin Koji, fans now know that a major change to the story is coming, and it all links to the one and only, Sasuke Uchiha. Sadly, the major change that took place in the world of Boruto brings bad news for Sasuke Uchiha.

Fans Expected Sasuke To Return Soon In Boruto

  • The Shinju Are Expected To Fall Soon
  • Fans Want Sasuke To Return

The Shinju were introduced to the fans at the beginning of the Two Blue Vortex series, and since then, the story has consistently been building them up. Fans know very well that beating them isn’t easy for anyone, and more than that, that they stem from real humans. In order for a Hitoshinju to be born, a Claw Grime needs to bite a human and drain their chakra. This human then becomes their parent body, and their DNA is used to create a Shinju. Their abilities are quite similar to those of the parent body, and that’s what’s fascinating to many.

The only one this village needs to hate is me and me alone. — Sasuke Uchiha

In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, fans saw Sasuke Uchiha falling victim to one of the Claw Grimes, and using his chakra, a Shinju named Hidari was born. Fans didn’t know how strong Hidari was at first, but it became abundantly clear that he was the second strongest Shinju after Jura.

As the story continued, the Shinju kept falling one by one. Ryu and Matsuri have already fallen, which means Mamushi, Hidari, and Jura remain. With their downfall having begun, fans expect Sasuke to return soon, but it seems the author has other plans.

It Looks Like Hidari Will Be A Bigger Villain Than Jura

Jura Looks Set To Fall First

It goes without saying that Jura is the strongest of the Shinju and Kishimoto has made that abundantly clear. Usually, the strongest fights at the end and falls at the very end. However, here, Kishimoto has taken a different approach. It seems that Jura will be falling first. Initially, fans had assumed that Jura would defeat Boruto and then the two would have a rematch at some other time. Now, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

With Kawaki joining the battle Vs Jura, fans know very well that there is a real possibility of him falling here. In that case, there is no guarantee that Mamushi and Hidari will fall anytime soon.

Hidari Could Outlast Jura Similar To Code

If Hidari lives, it wouldn’t be the first time that Kishimoto and Ikemoto made a weaker member of the group outlive the strongest. Despite Jigen and many others from Kara falling, Code still lives and is active to this day. Hidari could gain more awareness and live for long, which is horrible news for all fans of Sasuke, since that means his return, which looked imminent after the fall of Ryu and Matsuri, won’t happen anytime soon.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 24 is set for its official release on July 20, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
