Brad Pitt’s iconic 2013 zombie apocalypse movie World War Z is getting another resurgence on streaming. As per FlixPatrol, it ranked Number 7 on the Top Movies list on Paramount+ dated March 3, 2026, beating two Scream films—the 1996 and 2022 versions.
Even after 13 years, the horror flick’s charm continues to enthrall fans across the world, this time in Central and South America, where it is currently trending. With a box office of $540 million, it is considered the highest-grossing zombie film of all time (As of March 3rd, 2026), an accomplishment that’s definitely hard to beat.
Is There A Sequel to Brad Pitt’s World War Z? Here’s What We Know

With the commercial success of Pitt’s movie, it’s only logical to follow it up with a sequel. Unfortunately, plans for it at the time did not materialize. Paramount Pictures initially wanted to make a trilogy, but the project struggled with budget issues and finding a director. After several delays, it was officially cancelled in February 2019.
In August 2025, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Paramount boss and co-film chief Josh Greenstein said that World War Z will be included in their list of priorities. While this doesn’t confirm anything, it’s great news that they aren’t completely abandoning the project. However, fans better not get their hopes up too high.
There are many possible directions the story can go if the sequel gets off the ground. As the final scene revealed, they have created a vaccine that enables humans to safely move to other regions without being attacked by zombies. The implications of the said vaccine can be explored in the potential sequel.
Scream Movies See A Boost In Viewership After Scream 7 Release

Several Scream installments have seen an increase in viewership over the past few days, and it’s not hard to see why. Scream 7 just landed in theaters last February 27, and fans were quick to run to their nearest local cinemas to catch the film. Despite negative reviews from critics, it set the record for the highest opening weekend of the horror franchise (via Deadline).
The sudden boost in streaming views must come from those who planned to watch earlier installments before seeing the latest iteration on the big screen, but it is also highly possible that many fans just wanted to binge-watch the entire Scream franchise. It is a classic horror film that stood the test of time for a reason.
