Breathe In Dont Choke Guide – Revenge of the Savage Planet

Breathe In, Don’t Choke is part of the Under the (Frozen) Sea questline in Revenge of the Savage Planet. This segment takes you deep underwater, which sounds peaceful until you realize breathing isn’t optional. You’ll need a certain upgrade to make it out alive.

Here’s how to get what you need, where to go, and what to expect.

What You Need First

To even attempt this quest, make sure you’ve unlocked:

  • Stomp Booster – lets you break through ground obstacles

  • Magnetic Fork – required for lifting wreckage or activating grind rails

  • Underwater Scooter – this is the main tool for surviving this part of the game

You’ll get the Underwater Scooter after defeating the Clawbarella boss during the Roundtrip 2.0 storyline. If you haven’t done that yet, head back and take care of it first.

Where to Start

Once you have the scooter:

  1. Head to Stellaris Prime

  2. Look for a large frozen lake or submerged cave—EKO will usually give a line of dialogue to hint you’re in the right spot

  3. Dive in and activate your scooter by holding the interact button while in water

You’ll notice that most underwater paths are way too long to swim manually. The scooter changes that and opens up new routes.

What to Watch Out For

  • Oxygen Bubbles – Refill your air supply as you go. These are scattered around longer underwater sections.

  • Toxic Pockets – Some caves have poison gas clouds. You’ll need the Toxic Mask Filter upgrade to get through those safely.

  • Currents – These can block your path unless you activate switches nearby or take alternate side tunnels. Look for glowing flora as clues.

Completing the Quest

As you swim through the main route:

  • You’ll reach a sealed underwater vault

  • Use your Magnetic Fork to pull debris out of the way

  • In some spots, you’ll also need to stomp coral growths or use Blight Bombs to clear amber walls

At the end of the path, you’ll scan a special data terminal and trigger a cutscene. This wraps up the Breathe In, Don’t Choke section and moves the story forward into Taking Control.

Final Blurb

Breathe In, Don’t Choke is less really just about staying alive long enough to see the next quest marker. If you’ve got the scooter, a decent stash of upgrades, and don’t mind swimming through glowing death tunnels, you’ll be just fine. Just keep an eye out for oxygen refills… or this quest lives up to its name.
