Benedict’s storyline in An Offer from a Gentleman presents its own set of issues that the show will likely address. In the book, Benedict proposes that Sophie be his mistress. However, the book also includes scenes where Benedict blackmails Sophie and s**ually harasses her after she rejects his offer.

These moments are understandably problematic, especially by today’s standards. Instead of Benedict coercing Sophie, Netflix should make him more respectful of her autonomy and decisions. Benedict’s pursuit of Sophie will remain, but it will be done in a manner that prioritizes her comfort. Most importantly, the series should preserve the romance.

Lady In Silver Reveal Might Be Different in Bridgerton Season 4

The “Lady in Silver” mystery plays a crucial role in An Offer From a Gentleman, with Benedict becoming enchanted with the masked woman at a masquerade ball. He is unaware that she is Sophie. As he longs for the Lady in Silver, Benedict gradually falls for Sophie, ultimately leading him to propose that she become his mistress.

Quinn also hinted that this aspect will be different from the book. While the mystery of Lady in Silver will likely remain intact, it may play out differently. For example, the Queen’s obsession with gossip may prompt an investigation into Lady in Silver, just like her obsession with Lady Whistledown.

There’s also the possibility that Araminta, Sophie’s stepmother, might play a larger role in the drama. In the book, Araminta’s daughters are largely overlooked, but in the series, they may be used to further complicate Benedict’s quest. As a Cinderella counterpart, there’s a chance Araminta might attempt to pass one of her daughters off as Lady in Silver.

Additionally, season 4 will likely highlight Yerin Ha’s Korean heritage, similar to how Kate and Edwina’s Indian heritage was showcased in Season 2. For instance, Sophie’s last name has already been changed from Beckett to Baek to show representation. This change aligns with the show’s commitment to inclusivity and diverse storytelling.
