Bridgerton season 4 brought a lot of surprises and swoonworthy moments for the gentle viewers. The fantasy love story between Benedict and Sophie surely raised the bar in romance and proved that no obstacle is big enough to stop the power of love. While fans are busy revisiting their favorite moments from season 4, news of the series renewal for two more seasons is already spreading faster than Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers. 

The next season of the Netflix global phenomenon is expected to be the most anticipated love story of Eloise. Though the details of the next season have been kept under wraps, both showrunner Jess Brownell and author Julia Quinn have hinted that seasons 5 and 6 will be around Eloise and Francesca, with order unknown. 

After setting up a great foundation for Eloise in season 4, the next season of the show might feature Eloise as the protagonist. Season 5 may follow the narrative set in To Sir Phillip, With Love. Quinn is particularly excited about Eloise’s story and even told Us Weekly,

I don’t necessarily know how they’re gonna spin it or write it or what they’re going to keep and change. I love [Eloise’s] story. [Sir Phillip] has two kids who she has got to wrangle, which is awesome. The fact that Eloise is going to have an instant family is awesome. His twins are pretty ruthless to her so I hope they keep stuff like that in.

The Bridgerton sibling who has been allergic to marriage and familial commitments since her debut will finally find love with Sir Phillip Crane, a well-read nobleman and a scientist who will be everything Eloise wanted in her man. However, we will have to wait for an official announcement from the team to know who the leads are going to be for Bridgerton season 5.

What Will Bridgerton Season 5 Be About?

Details for the plot and central characters for Bridgerton season 5 are being kept under wraps for now. The team is letting viewers immerse themselves in and fully enjoy the romance they spun in the previous season before kickstarting the hype for season 5. 

If Eloise and Sir Phillip lead the next season, we can expect a cute love story between a woman who despises the idea of marriage and a rugged countryside man. Poetically, the fifth season of the series will be based on the fifth book in Julia Quinn’s novel series. We already met Sir Phillip briefly in the previous seasons when he married Marina. 

As per the books, after Marina’s death, Sir Phillip is living a lonesome life until Eloise comes along like a hurricane that she is and upends his life. The series is expected to make certain changes to the source material to better fit in the timeline and series of events on the show. 

On the other hand, if the show decides to showcase Francesca’s story, then we expect her and Michaela to be the leads. In the books, however, Michaela is John Stirling’s cousin called Michael. The series has deviated from this detail to bring in more diversity to its storytelling and characters. Season 4 saw John’s death, leaving Francesca in the pits of deep sorrow. She believes she can never love again, but time will soon prove otherwise. 

Both storylines have great potential to be adapted for the screen, and fans cannot wait for more Bridgerton seasons to offer heartwarming romance and moments of pure love. 

When Will Bridgerton Season 5 Release?

No release date for Bridgerton season 5 has been announced yet. The showrunner is letting people revel in Benedict and Sophie’s story before making the big announcement on the upcoming season. Though nothing is confirmed yet, we can expect season 5 to drop anytime next year, filled with more bewitching classical cover songs.

Brownell did tell Decider that production is set to begin soon. She further added,

We want to give fans a moment to really celebrate Yerin and Luke and everything they’ve put into this season, but we are starting production very soon on season 5.

Till we get more seasons of the groundbreaking romantic drama series on Netflix, fans can rewatch the past seasons and acquaint themselves on the details they may have missed the first time around.
