Call of Duty developers responded to TheGhostOfHope after he revealed that he was told to stop leaking details about CoD moving forward.
Leaking what a studio has planned for a game has become an even bigger part of the online gaming world in the last few years. Dataminers have constantly gone on the hunt for new content whenever a fresh update drops, which can see them leaking anything from new skins to unannounced game modes, and even brand-new games as well.
On the Call of Duty side of things, there are a few prominent leakers, with one of the most popular being TheGhostOfHope. Over the last few years, Ghost has revealed a number of big-time collabs, as well as details about new games.
However, he has been told to shut down his leaking operations.
GhostOfHope reveals he will stop leaking CoD details
“Activision has legally demanded that I stop leaking and disseminating confidential information related to Call of Duty/Activision and I am complying with their demands,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter) on March 3.
“Still gonna stick around and chat about Official Call of Duty info and anything not related to leaks/confidential information. Cheers for these past few years.”

CoD devs address GhostOfHope’s shutdown
While they didn’t directly respond to Hope’s post, the Call of Duty X account did address it a few hours later.
“Nah. Even when leaks are wrong, they still hurt the people building the game and mess with player expectations,” they said, replying to TDAWG’s suggestion that Hope had been “right about everything” regarding CoD’s plans.

This isn’t the first time that CoD has responded to Hope on social media. After the leaker claimed that the devs were working on a standalone Zombies game, they shut that down.
“The rumor factory working overtime. This ain’t it,” they told Dexerto on X.
They also addressed his claims about Modern Warfare 4 having recoil similar to that of Modern Warfare 2 (2023). “Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. See you in 2026,” they said.
A number of CoD fans have expressed their disappointment at the shutdown, believing that leaks “bring the hype” and help devs “listen to players”.
