Chris Hemsworth had Mark Ruffalo’s back when he was asked about the rumor that Disney had allegedly fired the actor after Spider-Man: Brand New Day over his recent political comments at the Golden Globes Awards 2026.

Both Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry stated that the rumors were entirely nonsense and they would protest in response if Disney ever decides to do that. Speaking to The News Movement, Hemsworth said,

It’s nonsense.

The rumors spread so far that even Mark Ruffalo was asked about these said rumors of Disney allegedly firing him and potentially recasting The Hulk. Here’s what he had for a reply.

Mark Ruffalo Responded to Disney Firing Rumors

Well, Mark Ruffalo has always been one to speak his mind. Being an activist, Ruffalo has spoken publicly about countless political opinions and all the happenings around the world in public events and interviews.

At the Golden Globe Awards 2026, Mark Ruffalo opined (via Variety) about the death of Renee Nicole Good. He also talked about the Vice President of the U.S. lying to the people, alongside allegedly invading Venezuela.

We have a vice president who is lying about what’s happening. We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded. [Trump] is telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality.

Following his comments, it was rumored that Disney was going to fire Mark Ruffalo because the corporation wanted to be as far away from politics as possible. However, Ruffalo revealed (via CBM) that he hasn’t been made aware so far.

Not that I know of. I’ll be there as long as they’ll have me, but I have a good relationship with them.

Well, that’s good news for Mark Ruffalo and the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, but it’s also bad news for the Marvel Cinematic Universe because they need to highlight Hulk more than the rest.

Marvel Will Need to Give a Special Spotlight to Hulk in Avengers: Doomsday

Well, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk has been quite… weird ever since he was introduced in The Avengers. Although being an emotional monster, fans adore Hulk, but are having problems getting acquainted with the Smart Hulk and the calm Hulk.

Hulk was supposed to be a monster that destroys everything, friend or foe. However, it seems that Marvel has dialled down Hulk’s power quite a lot (especially after Avengers: Infinity War).

Naturally, if Marvel wants people to be interested in the character of Hulk, they would have to come up with something revolting for the character (like his fight with Iron Man in Avengers: Age of Ultron).

Although the Hulk is a core member of the Avengers, he has been getting sidelined for quite a while now as more powerful heroes take the center stage. Therefore, it it upto Marvel to give Hulk the power and fame that he deserves and not make him a calm monster with a brain.
