It’s no secret that Crimson Desert has been a wildly successful game, with thousands jumping in to explore its sprawling open-world and fight for the Greymanes as Kliff. In fact, it’s been so successful that the developers have all received a hefty bonus for their efforts.

Whether you dived in to play as Kliff, defeat all the tricky bosses, or just fish and grab an adorable pet, Crimson Desert has it all, offering whatever adventure you’re looking for. Naturally, that proved to be extremely popular, with over 5 million copies sold since its release back in March, a huge achievement for Pearl Abyss.

That success has extended to the studio’s employees, with each receiving a huge bonus for their efforts in making Crimson Desert such a huge success.

The CEO of Pearl Abyss spoke out on the reward, announcing (translated from Korean): “I express my deep respect and gratitude for the hard work of each and every one of you who created a product that the world is enthusiastic about, and I am paying a celebratory bonus for achieving 5 million sales to all employees who have silently fulfilled their roles in their respective positions.”

This is a huge amount when you consider that last year, Pearl Abyss was reported to have 733 employees, making the total bonus hit 3.7 billion Won, so roughly $2.5 million.

According to Money Today Broadcasting, the bonus isn’t the end of their rewards: “It is expected that a separate incentive will be paid at the beginning of 2027 based on the annual surplus achieved in 2026.”

So, should Crimson Desert hit a new milestone, it’s likely that all the developers will be getting another impressive bonus.
