The second part of Death Stranding 2 focuses on connecting all of Australia to the Chiral Network. There are some optional facilities in the game, and players should also prioritize connecting them, even if they don’t plan on raising their connection level to the max. This is mainly because of the various benefits areas inside the Chiral Network provide. One of the trophies in Death Stranding 2 requires players to visit the F3 Crater, and here is how you can do that.
How To Reach the F3 Crater in Death Stranding 2
To access the F3 Crater early, players must progress through the story until they complete Order 29, which connects the Mechanic to the Chiral Network. After this mission, players will unlock the Coffin Board, which they can fabricate and use as a vehicle that floats above the ground. Though the properties of this board sound impressive, there’s a catch—it only works within the Chiral Network.
Since you need to connect Heartman’s Lab before this, reaching the F3 Crater shouldn’t be a problem. Once the Coffin Board is unlocked, head to the lab using any mode of transportation. Fabricate a board, which will cost the ing materials:
- 260 Metals
- 200 Ceramics
- 30 Chemicals
Once you’re set, ride the Coffin Board north toward the giant crater in the middle of the tar lake. No other vehicle works here, so it’s best to fly across using the board. As you approach the BT nexus in the F3 Crater, the «The Scars Left by the Giants» trophy will pop, and you’re free to leave. However, if you’re curious about the small island in the middle, feel free to investigate—but be prepared to encounter a few BTs.
As you approach the area, your Odradek will alert you that you’re in a BT zone, and a BT will emerge from the tar. Fighting these BTs is not ideal, especially if you’re not well equipped, so keep this in mind and bring along some weapons and tools that you can fabricate at the DHV Magellan or Heartman’s Lab, which is the nearest facility.
Alternatively, players can progress further in the story until they unlock the Adventurer and raise their connection to Level 5. At that point, completing Sub Order 121 will transport you to the crater and also trigger the trophy.
