How to find the Toby Dog secret boss in Deltarune
To face Toby Dog, go to Gerson’s study room in the Dark World before triggering the final fight. Once you’re in the study room, take the right staircase where you’ll see two dark doors.
Go through the first dark door on the right side. Inside, you’ll spot two climbable pillars and a treasure chest at the top. Walk up to the first pillar, and after a few seconds, Toby Dog will appear at the second one. That’s your cue that the challenge is about to begin.
How to beat Toby Dog
Toby Dog doesn’t fight with attacks, he races you to the top of the pillar. To participate, make sure you’ve unlocked the climbing ability, as you’ll need it to move upward.
As the race starts, dodge the white floating obstacles to maintain your speed. The fewer you hit, the faster you climb. The goal is to reach the top before Toby Dog, but here’s the twist — Toby Dog always uses a ladder to win, no matter how quick you are. But the good news is that you will still be rewarded even if you lose the race.
Rewards for the race
After the race ends, Toby Dog will head for the bone, completely ignoring the treasure chest. That’s your opportunity to open the chest and grab your reward.
You’ll receive an item called the Dog Dollar. It’s a simple coin with a dog’s face and no functional use, but it does have limited sell value that drops with each chapter, so don’t hang onto it too long if you’re trying to make some extra cash.
