Destiny 2: How To Earn The Heavy Metal Title

The latest event for Destiny 2 spices up the Crucible with a new 3v3 playlist that’s focused on vehicular combat. Named Heavy Metal, this playlist pits Drake tanks against Brig mechs in a large combat arena on Europa. Eliminate your opponents, secure their tokens, and claim victory to get yourself some new rewards.

If you manage to complete the event pass, you’ll be fairly close towards earning this event’s titular-named title. Heavy Metal doesn’t take long to complete, provided you’re willing to play the new playlist for a few hours and complete some Daily Challenges. Here are the four Triumphs required to earn the new Heavy Metal title.

Vehicle Compactor

Defeat target vehicles.

This challenge requires you to destroy 150 vehicles in the Heavy Metal playlist. In other words, you need to kill 150 enemies in the new playlist while the event is active. You must land the final blow for the kills to count.

Fight with your team to maximize your chances of success. The TTK in this activity is incredibly long due to the firing delay between shots, so you’ll need to work with your squad to pick off enemy vehicles quickly. Play close to cover, and you should be able to complete this challenge in a few hours.

Kill Streak

Defeat multiple targets without dying 20 times.

Kill Streak will track the number of kills you land without dying. You must get at least two kills in one life a total of 20 times. If you can get more kills in one life, those extra kills will also count.

Playing your life is crucial for this challenge. Never stray too far from cover, and grab any tokens that drop—they’re your only means of healing in this playlist. If you get surrounded, remember that you have a dodge button to avoid incoming projectiles.

The Undefeated

Win 10 games of Heavy Metal.

The Undefeated requires you to win ten games of Heavy Metal during the event. Playing it safe is crucial here. If you can, consider playing with a pre-made squad to coordinate throughout the match. Fighting with your squadmates makes it significantly easier to get kills.

I Get What I Want

Complete the Event Track in the Event Home.

The Event Track is the Battle Pass reward track that you can find on the Heavy Metal event page. You can find it under the «Quests» tab through the Heavy Metal banner. For the reward track itself, you simply need to complete Heavy Metal matches and event-related challenges.

Daily Challenges are your best source of progression here. Complete all three, use any spare Reroll Chips to gain new challenges, and repeat. If you can complete the Weekly Challenge in the process, you’ll easily complete the Event Track before the event ends.
