The latest event for Destiny 2 has brought with it a new title: heavy Metal. As with past event titles, you have the ability to both earn and gild the title by completing in-game Triumphs that are directly tied to the event activity. In Heavy Metal’s case, you’ll need to play the titular game mode and claim rewards from its reward track.
Once you unlock the title, you’re able to gild Heavy Metal by completing four additional Triumphs, most of which are fairly easy to complete if you’re patient. This guide will give a brief overview of how to complete each Triumph.
Usurper
Defeat the enemy team’s leader 20 times.
The player with the top score on either team will be tagged as the leader, denoted by a golden hue around their vehicle. This challenge requires you to defeat the enemy team’s top-scoring player a total of 20 times. Kills are tracked throughout the entire event once you acquire the Heavy Metal title , so don’t worry about having to complete this in one game.
Atop The Throne
Become a leader 10 times.
You’ll need to reach the top of your team’s scoreboard a total of ten times to finish this Triumph. Doing so isn’t particularly hard if you play your life. Fight near your teammates, and you should easily be able to pick off the enemy team. Grab any tokens you see to further improve your score.
Valuable Legacy
Collect 20 leaders’ coins.
There’s not much to explain here. Kill the enemy team’s leader 20 times and claim their token each time. You’ll need to be near the leader when you kill them to grab the token as fast as possible. Consider using your dodge to close the gap once they’re dead.
Salvo Sender
Defeat 25 targets while using your secondary weapon.
Every vehicle has a secondary weapon that deals immense damage with a lengthy cooldown. You’ll need to land 25 kills with your secondary weapon for this challenge, which is a fairly easy requirement if you use your secondary weapon against enemies under half HP. Be sure you’re close to the target to ensure your secondary weapon hits.
