When a game has large maps and areas like The First Descendant, knowing how to use the Fast Travel system is paramount to getting around quickly.
The new looter shooter is divided into different regions that you can travel to in a pinch to progress through your mission objectives.
Fortunately, the Fast Travel system for The First Descendant is simple and easy to understand. As you journey to and first unlock a new region, you will unlock a Fast Travel point for it. These will appear as green icons on your map.

How to Fast Travel in The First Descendant
- Open your map
- Go to the region you want to travel to
- Put your cursor over the Fast Travel point
- Press and hold the Interact button (E for keyboard, A/X for controller)
Once the loading screen is finished, you will be at the new spot on the map, ready to head towards your objective.

This means that you can’t be as selective about where you travel and may not be able to get as close to your objective as you would like. Still, it’s a huge benefit when trying to navigate to your next mission.

Progressing through The First Descendant’s main story will bring you to each region, so unlocking the whole map will be simple. While not a necessary part of the main quest, having Fast Travel available will be a huge help when you need to backtrack at times.
