The Undertaker is one of the two new Nightfarers in Elden Ring Nightreign’s Forsaken Hollows DLC. Here's everything you need to know about it.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s The Forsaken Hollow DLC is coming out on December 4, 2025, and it’s bringing two new Nightfarers into the game. While we looked at the Scholar’s abilities recently, the spotlight is now on the Undertaker. And if you’re asking us, she has some of the most interesting abilities that FromSoftware has ever made.
With the recent reveal, we can see that she’s a hammer-wielding damage dealer with surprisingly good mobility and a kit that seems very interesting. Let’s take a look at everything you can expect from the Undertaker: her abilities, playstyle, and how she will fit into the game.
Undertaker Abilities and Mechanics in Elden Ring Nightreign

Coming in as one of the new Nightfarers in The Forsaken Hollows DLC (launching December 4, 2025), the Undertaker is a hybrid Faith/Strength class, which looks good for fast fights and high burst damage. According to the lore, the Undertaker is an abbess tasked with hunting the Nightlord. Relegated to burial duty, she is now a gatekeeper to the afterlife, literally.
She specializes in hammers, with A-tier scaling in Strength and Faith, B-tier scaling in health, and C-tier scaling in both FP and stamina.
Confluence – Passive Ability

The Undertaker’s passive, Confluence, is the biggest part of the kit. Whenever an ally activates their Ultimate Art, the Undertaker gets a brief window to use its own Ultimate for free, regardless of whether you have it or not.
So if you’re playing with friends who want to coordinate, this can result in a chain of back-to-back ultimates that melt bosses in seconds. It is easily one of the strongest passives in the entire game.

Trance – Character Skill
Trance is where the Undertaker gets his speed and survivability from. Once activated, your movement will go up to sprint speed without consuming stamina, and you’ll also gain increased toughness and combo power. Her dodge converts into a snappy step, comparable to the Duchess’s evasive mobility.
If you activate Trance while her Ultimate Art gauge is full, it’s upgraded with extra features like higher attack power, a massive bump in movement speed, and the ability to escape one lethal blow. This is similar to Wylder’s “last-chance” mechanic, giving her a way to cheat death if timed well.
Importantly, Trance also instantly refills her stamina, letting her keep pressure on enemies or reposition quickly when things go south.
Loathsome Hex – Ultimate Art
The Loathsome Hex ultimate is the defining part of the Undertaker’s kit. The Undertaker tears a bone from her own body before launching herself like a guided missile toward her target. The attack hits hard, closes huge distances, and can be activated even in mid-air.
How Good the Undertaker Could Be in the Nightreign Meta

From what we can tell with this information, the Undertaker is one of the most exciting and synergistic classes that FromSoftware has released for Nightreign so far. Her kit rewards aggression, timing, and teamwork, all while offering a lot to all of you solo players as well.
Combined with new environmental challenges and more punishing enemies in The Forsaken Hollows, it should be a lot of fun. As for relic effects, the full list of Undertaker-specific relic bonuses includes:
- Buffed physical attacks while self-applied incantation assists are active
- Increased attack power when activating Ultimate Art
- Contact with allies restores their HP during Ultimate Art
- Extra attack power for landing the final blow of a combo chain
So, in short, it feels like the Undertaker fits into nearly any team but absolutely shines in comps and teams that know how to use her kit properly. The Forsaken Hollows DLC is releasing in just two days. So you won’t have to wait much longer to test out all the new content!
