Screenshots of the rumored remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have been discovered online, seemingly confirming the existence of this mysterious game, which is apparently set to launch soon.
When rumors of an Oblivion remake started making the rounds, fans assumed it was still a long ways off, especially as The Elder Scrolls VI has barely been mentioned by Bethesda. As time went on, the leaks started to say that the release was imminent, despite the game never formally being announced by Xbox Game Studios.
Users on the GamingLeaksAndRumours Reddit have discovered that screenshots of the Oblivion remake can be found on the Virtuoso Games website, which have since been taken down. The Gaming Reddit has shared some of the images, with confirmation that the game is called “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.”
The Oblivion Remake Looks Incredible

The screenshots of the Oblivion remake look amazing, though fans have pointed out that the game world looks a lot browner than the original game, which had quite a colourful setting and characters. While the game is called “Remastered,” the visual jump is such that it’s easy to consider it a remake.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered appears to be coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S (with a day-one Game Pass launch), and PlayStation 5. There is no word regarding a Nintendo Switch 2 port. There appears to be a Deluxe Edition with extra downloadable content.
If the rumors about the Oblivion remake being shadowdropped in April are true, then it’s likely that fans will be playing it soon. It’s still baffling that Microsoft hasn’t been promoting this game, considering how beloved the original Oblivion was and how fans are already chomping at the bit to meet digital Patrick Stewart in the castle dungeons once more.
