On November 15th, Battlestate Games’ Escape From Tarkov will finally release it’s 1.0 version — that’s just 11 days away! Or is it 3 months, and 11 days? The servers can’t really tell, apparently.

Several players, including Twitch streamer Axel_TV, had their in-game progress rolled back with zero warning. Sharing the moment in a clip posted to X, Axel_TV shows off the damage done. Not long after the post went live, the devs became aware of it and implemented a fix.

And he wasn’t alone. Today’s rollbacks didn’t affect everyone, but this wasn’t an isolated case of one account getting randomly hit.

Battlestate Games released a brief statement on the matter, saying they’re aware of the issue. Or at least, some issue. The post neither described the issue nor any fixes they hoped to make, and is shorter than the paragraph you just finished reading.

Those unnamed issues have been «resolved» per another post, though with so little information given it’s hard to know what changed.

Is Escape From Tarkov Ready For Release Day?

With the 1.0 release of Tarkov on the horizon, and all the buzz about ARC Raiders turning heads in the extraction shooter space, there’s a fair amount of snark in the replies of posts discussing the issue.

In a time where the devs really need the hype cycle to be kicking into high gear, a blunder like this has them stumbling towards the finish line, and may shuffle yet more players towards Tarkov’s duck-based parody game.

That could explain why Battlestate’s messaging on the progression wipes is so sparse. They may not want onlookers scrolling through official channels to actually see anything wrong. All most people will see is a «we’re aware» followed by an «all good!» — which, while technically accurate, isn’t especially informative.

Regardless of any official statements, though, the state of the game will be clear enough for players to see on the big release day. If Battlestate Games gets the player surge they’re doubtlessly hoping for, that’ll bring a lot more eyes to any server issues that crop up. Turns out, word spreads faster when the mob upset with you is bigger.
