Every High Schooler Sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, Ranked Weakest to Strongest

Jujutsu Kaisen is filled with different kinds of sorcerers, but there are a bunch of high school sorcerers who are on a completely different level.

The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is filled with different kinds of sorcerers, and each of them has a special power of their own. While most of them are full-grown adults, there are some high schoolers in the mix who have also proved their worth as powerful sorcerers. In fact, some of them are so strong that they even surpass the adults of the Jujutsu Kaisen world.

There are two high schools in Jujutsu Kaisen: the Tokyo Jujutsu High School and its sister school, the Kyoto Prefectural Jujutsu High School. Both feature incredible sorcerer students who play a significant role in the storyline. Here is a list of every high school sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, ranked by strength from weakest to strongest.

Before we get into the list, here’s an overview of Jujutsu Kaisen:

16 Kasumi Miwa

Kasumi Miwa is a second-year student from the Kyoto Jujutsu High School in Jujutsu Kaisen. She comes from a normal family and became a sorcerer to earn money and support them, and she reached the rank of grade 3, which is considered average for a student. She might not be the strongest sorcerer, but she is still somewhat reliable.

Miwa does not have an innate cursed technique, but she fights with a katana and the New Shadow Style, a sword style that focuses on clean, simple cuts within a set range of the katana. She can also use the Simple Domain technique, a defensive ability that helps protect her from enemy domains despite her lack of raw power.

15 Mai Zenin

Mai Zenin is also a second-year student from Kyoto Jujutsu High, and she is the younger twin sister of Maki Zenin. She holds the grade 3 rank, and compared to other clan members, she is considered extremely weak. Which is why she has a very bitter relationship with her entire family and with Maki in particular, but it changes later on.

Mai’s main technique is called Construction, a cursed technique that lets her create physical objects from cursed energy. Because her cursed energy reserves are very small, she normally only uses them to make one extra bullet for her revolver per day, which works as a surprise attack and helps her startle her enemies. However, it is not very effective.

14 Momo Nishimiya

Momo Nishimiya is a third-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High, and she is more or less considered a semi-grade 2 sorcerer, which places her slightly above average in Jujutsu Kaisen. She often takes support roles and helps organize her team during missions, thus acting like an older sister to many younger students.

Momo’s cursed technique allows her to generate wind to move, attack, and mark enemies, which makes her perfect for scouting, tracking curses from the air, and relaying information to her allies. This is why she rides a broom that she can control with her cursed technique, letting her fly over the battlefield like a witch.

13 Arata Nitta

Arata Nitta is a first-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High and the younger brother of Akari Nitta. He is a non-combat sorcerer, and even though he played a significant role, Gege Akutami has not given him an official grade in the story. This is probably because he has little to no battle experience, which is usually required to grade a sorcerer.

Arata’s cursed technique is a rare healing-type ability. He cannot fully regenerate injuries, but he can halt bleeding, stabilize wounds, and stop damage from getting worse, while also easing pain. Although he cannot fully heal damage, he is often considered to save lives in long battles, making him a crucial addition.

12 Nobara Kugisaki

Nobara Kugisaki is a first-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High and part of the main Jujutsu Kaisen trio alongside Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro. She is officially ranked as a grade 3 sorcerer, but she often performs far above that level, making her a credible fighter. Her confidence and determination help her stay calm even in dangerous fights.

Nobara uses the Straw Doll Technique with a hammer and nails charged with cursed energy to attack enemies from both close and medium range. With Resonance, she can damage a target by striking a nail embedded in a surrogate object linked to them, and with Hairpin, she detonates her nails after they land, which is a reliable long-range technique.

11 Kokichi Muta

Kokichi Muta is a second-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High, but due to his Heavenly Restriction, his real body is fragile and constantly in pain. Because of this Heavenly Restriction, he attends school and fights using his puppet, Ultimate Mechamaru, who holds a semi-grade 1 rank. Muta is respected for his skill despite his condition, thus making him a significant character.

Kokichi uses Puppet Manipulation and has a large amount of cursed energy. He controls multiple Mechamaru units across long distances for surveillance and combat. When he focuses his power into a single machine, like the Mechamaru: Mode Absolute, he can fire energy blasts, put up powerful barriers, and even push back a special grade curse like Mahito.

10 Panda

Panda is officially listed as a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High, but he isn’t human at all. He is an Abrupt-Mutation cursed corpse created by Principal Masamichi Yaga, and is essentially classified as a semi-grade 2 sorcerer. Panda’s body gives him abilities beyond many human sorcerers, making him durable, and because of this, he is able to take heavy hits in battle.

Panda has three cores inside him that change his fighting style. The three cores are Panda, Gorilla, and a hidden sibling, which function like different forms he can switch between. Each core changes his abilities and fighting style, letting him transform from a balanced all-rounder fighter to a heavy-hitting brawler in Jujutsu Kaisen.

9 Noritoshi Kamo

Noritoshi Kamo is a third-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High and the former heir of the Kamo clan, one of the three great jujutsu families in Jujutsu Kaisen. He holds the rank of semi-grade 1 sorcerer, and his strict upbringing made him serious and disciplined. However, his views more or less changed as he met new allies during his journey.

Noritoshi inherited the Kamo clan’s signature technique, Blood Manipulation, which allows him to control his blood even after it leaves his body, shaping it into projectiles, whips, and reinforced arrows. He can also boost his physical ability with Flowing Red Scale, and his control and strategy make him effective in different battle situations.

8 Kirara Hoshi

Kirara Hoshi is a third-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High who is suspended for clashing with the higher-ups and thus spends much of their time running an underground fight club. Their official grade has not been revealed in Jujutsu Kaisen, but they have proved themselves to be powerful enough to handle strong students.

Kirara’s cursed technique, Love Rendezvous, is one of the most complex Jujutsu Kaisen techniques as it marks people and objects with stars based on the Southern Cross constellation, then controls how those marked targets can move. This power can block movement or pull enemies into danger, making it a reliable technique during intense battles.

7 Toge Inumaki

Toge Inumaki is a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High and one of Yuta’s classmates in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is a semi-grade 1 sorcerer, making him one of the strongest students within the entire series. Because speaking normally activates his Cursed ability, he mostly uses rice ball ingredients to avoid harming others.

Toge’s power is Cursed Speech, a technique that infuses his words with cursed energy. When he commands his opponents with certain words, the curse forces their bodies to obey his command, no matter what. However, he has a drawback where sometimes strong commands severely damage his throat and body, especially against powerful enemies.

6 Aoi Todo

Aoi Todo is a third-year at Kyoto Jujutsu High and a fully certified grade 1 sorcerer, a rare level for a student. His loud personality and strange interests make him stand out, but he is respected for his battle skills. In fact, he might be one of the most skillful fighters within the entire Jujutsu Kaisen storyline.

Todo’s cursed technique, Boogie Woogie, lets him swap the positions of any two targets that have cursed energy when he claps his hands. He confuses enemies by switching places with allies or objects, and with his immense physical strength and mastery of Black Flash, he can pressure special grade curses, even in the most intense battles.

5 Megumi Fushiguro

Megumi Fushiguro is a first-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High and a grade 2 sorcerer, but his teachers and even Sukuna himself see him as someone with potential far beyond that rank. Despite being younger than many people below him on this list, Megumi has fought many special grade curses and has survived them.

Megumi uses the Ten Shadows Technique that allows him to summon and control shikigami made from shadows. These include fast hunting dogs, a flying Nue that shoots lightning, frogs for capture, giant elephants, etc.
He can also sink himself into his own shadow, hide weapons there, and unleash his incomplete Domain Expansion, the Chimera Shadow Garden.

4 Kinji Hakari

Kinji Hakari is a suspended third-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High, who is officially still a student, but spends much of his time running the Gachinko Fight Club. The story has not clearly stated his grade, but both Gojo Satoru and Yuta Okkotsu confirmed that he could one day rival, or even surpass, them.

Hakari uses a gambling-style technique linked to a Domain Expansion. If he wins a jackpot inside the domain, he gains huge cursed energy, fast healing, and temporary immortality. Following the activation of his cursed technique, he can fight recklessly, regenerate lost limbs, and even overwhelm extremely powerful opponents.

3 Maki Zenin

Maki Zenin is a second-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High and a former member of the Zenin clan. Officially, the clan kept her at grade 4, the lowest sorcerer rank, as a way to hold her back, but after her Heavenly Restriction was removed, she reached the same level as Toji Fushiguro, making her one of the strongest fighters in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Because she lacks cursed energy, Maki relies on cursed tools, and she has mastered swords, spears, chains, and other weapons to the point where she can defeat multiple grade 2 curses at once. After she gained the Split Soul Katana from Mai, she unlocked the ability to cut the soul of anything she hits, letting her slice through extreme defenses.

2 Yuji Itadori

Yuji Itadori is a first-year student at Tokyo Jujutsu High and the main protagonist of the entire Jujutsu Kaisen series. Interestingly, the story never gives him a clear, official grade, but considering his developments within the narrative, it is safe to say that Yuji Itadori is one of, if not the strongest, sorcerers in history.

Yuji has incredible physical strength and learns to use cursed energy in his attacks. He can use moves like Divergent Fist and Black Flash, and as the story moves forward, he also gains other abilities like the Reverse Cursed Technique. Not only that, but he also gets access to techniques connected to Sukuna, which increase his power on a completely different level.

1 Yuta Okkotsu

Yuta Okkotsu is a second-year student from Tokyo Jujutsu High studying abroad and is officially classified as a special grade sorcerer, making him the strongest high schooler in Jujutsu Kaisen. Yuta was also the main character of the prequel story Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and plays a major role in the battle against the King of Curses, Sukuna.

Yuta has a huge amount of cursed energy and works closely with Rika, who supports him in battle. He can copy other techniques under certain conditions, and he is also a skilled swordsman, channelling his energy through a katana. He was one of the most important fighters during the Culling Games, and without him, Sukuna’s defeat wouldn’t have been possible.
