Did Charlie Brooker’s 2018 Netflix series inspire the ending of the Duffer Brothers’ sci-fi horror Stranger Things?

Amid the anticipation for the Stranger Things finale, a new post from the X handle DiscussingFish has claimed that the Netflix series will have multiple endings, similar to Charlie Brooker’s interactive Black Mirror film Bandersnatch.
The Duffer Brothers say they shot 3 endings to the 'STRANGER THINGS' series finale, and the version you watch will be randomized from household-to-household.
Ending #2 reportedly "Canonizes a long-time internet fan theory."

The post reads, “The Duffer Brothers say they shot 3 endings to the ‘STRANGER THINGS’ series finale, and the version you watch will be randomized from household-to-household,” adding that “Ending #2 reportedly ‘Canonizes a long-time internet fan theory.”’
The claims, however, are not true, as DiscussingFish is a parody account known for satirical or fabricated news. So no, the Stranger Things ending is not inspired by Bandersnatch, which is known for its multiple viewer-determined endings.
Stranger Things Creators Reflect on Crafting the Series Finale
The Duffer Brothers recently discussed crafting the ending of their long-running series Stranger Things, reflecting on how the show evolved step by step, often shaped by the actors’ influence on the story.

However, the creators still argued that they had some rough ideas of the ending of the show. “As we started out season two — we’ve known for a really long time what the final scene of the show was going to be, which is nice because that gave us a north star,” Matt Ross told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview.

They also admitted that they never planned multiple seasons far in advance. Instead, they focused on making one great, distinct season at a time, with each installment designed to stand on its own.
And as much as the fans are excited to see, so are the creators to finally reveal the ending to the world. “We’re good. We’re excited,” the brothers shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, adding that they feel both nervous and excited as the finale approaches.
Kali’s Return Is Significant to Eleven’s Journey in Final Chapter
After being introduced in what has been dubbed one of the weakest episodes of Stranger Things Season 2, Kali returned in the Season 5 Volume 1 episode 4. After Eleven broke through the vault at the military base in the Upside Down, she found Kali trapped and hooked to a machine.

Matt and Ross Duffer have shared that Kali’s return in the final season will be very significant to Eleven’s journey going forward. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, they said:
Now as we go into volume two, she plays a really important role moving forward. We’re really excited for people to see more of Kali and how she impacts Eleven’s journey.
Ross Duffer added that they had always planned to bring Kali back in a way that properly serves her character and meaningfully impacts the story, especially Eleven’s arc.
With the final season reuniting the core characters, Kali is now expected to play an important part in Eleven’s and Hawkins’ final fight against Vecna and the Upside Down.
