With Fallout Season 2 now concluded, fans are already looking ahead to what Season 3 might hold. A major lingering question is about the fate of the enigmatic pre-war billionaire, Robert House. Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet has now shed some light on the future of Justin Theroux‘s character and his complex connection to Walton Goggins‘ Ghoul.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet talks about Fallout future of Justin Theroux’s Robert House
Speaking to Nerdist, Geneva Robertson-Dworet addressed Mr. House’s potential future and the layered relationship between him and The Ghoul. When asked if there was more of the Robert House and Cooper Howard story left to explore, her response was promising for fans hoping for more Justin Theroux in Fallout season 3.
Robertson-Dworet answered, “I do. I think they have a real history that we’re excited to unearth more of. I think House is deeply fascinated by Coop. And that he can’t quite understand why his algorithm keeps telling him that this figure is so important.”
She continued, “And Coop has done a big move that confirms that this season, but is there even more to it? So, we’re excited to keep exploring those two. And I think they’re amazing on screen together, Walton and Justin have such a hilarious, incredible dynamic.” While this isn’t an absolute confirmation of Robert House’s return in Season 3, it strongly suggests Fallout’s intention to continue developing this pivotal relationship.
Much of that intrigue stems from events already shown in Fallout Season 2. In the past timeline, Mr. House personally warns Cooper Howard about his impending imprisonment, stressing, “It wasn’t me.” The moment suggests a bond that goes beyond professional necessity, hinting that Cooper may be House’s first and only true friend.
With fans already looking forward to Fallout Season 3, the growing emphasis on the House–Cooper dynamic suggests that their story is far from finished.
