Family Claims Racism When Denied Entrance to Ohio Theme Park After Threatening to Report an Employee: ‘We Don’t Offer Refunds’ 

Their fun adventure didn’t last for long

A family decided to go to an Ohio theme park while other family members were visiting. However, their day was turned upside-down at the entrance to the park. When drama started with an employee, everybody was told to turn around and leave. 

Vee (@itsvee_babyyy) says that family was visiting from out of town, so they decided to spend the day at King’s Island theme park in Ohio. When they arrived, Vee had an issue with an employee for reasons that were not stated. In the end, she allegedly told the employee that she was going to get her name and report her to corporate. At the time Vee’s video begins, she’s telling a female employee about the employee she had issues with. She also tells the employee that she wants to report her to corporate.

One of Vee’s male family members instantly calls out the employees, saying, “We’re black, so we’re automatically a threat.” Vee records the facial expressions of both the female employee and a male security member. You can tell that they’re not trying to hide their general distaste for the situation and that they’re annoyed by the entire situation. As Vee’s trying to explain that she doesn’t like how they were treated, they keep blowing off her concerns. 

Finally, Vee said she’ll just go and get her money back after her entire family paid for their tickets. The female employee stops her, though, by stating, “We don’t offer refunds.” Vee’s family member asks, “So your employee accuses us of something and you just run with that?” The employees continue stating that they don’t offer refunds and can’t get their money back, and they leave it at that. 

In an update video, Vee and her family go to exit the park together. The security guard follows them to the gate and stands there, watching them leave. Vee yells out to all the employees, “He’s been harassing me! He’s harassing me!” He just stands and smiles at her as she walks away from the exit. 

The video sparked a variety of reactions, with some astounded by the park employee’s behaviors and others opposed to how Vee handled the situation. Many commenters pointed out that there was context missing from the video, wondering how this confrontation started in the first place. One commenter shared, “I’ve been going to King’s Island my entire life and have never had any issues.” Another stated, “King’s Island does have very strict rules. The littlest things get kids kicked out.” 

Other commenters instantly took Vee’s side and said they felt sorry for her family and what happened at King’s Island. As one commenter mentioned, “Wow, that’s insane. Sorry this happened!” Others were shocked that she was unable to get a refund for a day wasted. One commenter said, “Please report them to corporate AND dispute the charges with your bank.” Another added, “You can dispute anything with your bank. They didn’t receive service and was faulty accused. She will definitely get her refund.”
