FFXIV Launches New Social Media Presence on Bluesky

Final Fantasy XIV Expands Social Media Presence on Bluesky

Square Enix has officially launched new social media accounts for Final Fantasy XIV, joining the conversation on Bluesky. This move introduces four distinct accounts dedicated to the MMORPG, allowing players to follow the latest updates in English, French, German, and Japanese. Each account has already shared an initial announcement alongside a teaser video.

Purpose of New Accounts

In their announcement, Square Enix emphasized that these Bluesky accounts are not intended to replace existing FFXIV social media platforms. Instead, they serve as a complementary source of information. As it stands, it remains uncertain whether the content from other platforms, particularly X and Instagram, will be reproduced on Bluesky. Currently, matching posts regarding the new account launch have been observed on both of those platforms, leading fans to speculate on the future content strategy.

Distinct Content for Different Regions

It’s worth noting that the language-specific FFXIV social media accounts are likely to share tailored updates reflecting regional interests. For instance, on June 6th, Japan celebrated “Sheep Day, ”and only the official Japanese X account highlighted a related screenshot from Solution Nine. This illustrates the potential for unique content that might surface on the new Bluesky accounts.

Future Announcements

The addition of Bluesky accounts provides another avenue for fans to stay informed about future announcements, including anticipated events. Notably, a Letter from the Producer LIVE LXXXVII is scheduled for June 20, 2025, followed by a panel featuring Naoki Yoshida at Anime Expo 2025 on July 4, 2025.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently accessible on platforms such as the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with a mobile adaptation also in the works.
