Fiat has officially opened U.S. orders for its tiny Topolino electric vehicle, giving American buyers the chance to own one of the smallest EVs on the market for under $15,000.
Starting at $13,995 before destination charges, the Topolino is technically classified as a quadricycle rather than a conventional car. While it resembles a miniature Fiat 500, the compact EV is designed for short trips and low-speed driving, with a top speed of just 19 mph in its standard configuration.
The launch comes months after Stellantis confirmed plans to bring the Topolino to the U.S., where demand for small urban EVs has remained limited compared to larger electric vehicles.

Stellantis confirmed that the Fiat Topolino starts at $13,995, with a mandatory $990 destination fee bringing the total price to $14,985 before taxes and registration.
The electric vehicle offers up to 46 miles of driving range on a full charge and is intended primarily for neighborhood and urban use.
Customers can also receive a free low-speed vehicle conversion kit that increases the maximum speed from 19 mph to 25 mph. With the conversion installed, the Topolino can legally operate on roads with posted speed limits of up to 35 mph, depending on local regulations.

The vehicle will be available in limited quantities during its first year in the U.S. Buyers can choose between a hardtop model with conventional doors or the Dolce Vita convertible, which replaces doors with rope barriers.

“Topolino represents a new chapter for the brand in the U.S., defined not just by size, but by purpose,” Fiat brand CEO Olivier François said in a release. “With Topolino, we bring a feeling, a lifestyle, a reminder that mobility can be joyful, expressive and beautifully simple.”
The Topolino, whose name translates to “little mouse” in Italian, is manufactured in Morocco, and it joins a growing list of unconventional low-cost EVs entering the U.S. market.
Slate Auto began preorders back in June for its new EV, a minimalist electric pickup that starts at $25,000 and can be transformed into different body styles using interchangeable accessory kits. While the two vehicles target different buyers, both reflect a broader push toward simpler, more affordable electric transportation.
