Finn Wolfhard has carved his niche as an actor, thanks to his roles in Stranger Things, It, and more. However, many might not know that the 22-year-old actor still lives with his parents. In a recent interview, he opened up on why he decided not to move out of his parents’ house.
What did Finn Wolfhard say about living with his parents?
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Finn Wolfhard said, “I lived alone for a few years, I guess two years, and then I moved back in with my family for a year.” Wolfhard then mentioned that he lived alone in Atlanta for a year while filming Stranger Things but has since gone back to living with his family.
The actor further added that he and his family had a home in Vancouver. However, he noted that they all “still live together.” Wolfhard was born and raised in Vancouver by Eric Wolfhard and Mary Jolivet, both of whom encouraged and supported his artistic passions. Eric worked as a researcher on aboriginal land claims and has also dabbled in screenwriting.
Wolfhard also mentioned that he “rarely” gets to meet his family. He called Vancouver a “nice home base to have,” adding that he ought to have a “place [to come back to]” with his parents if he was mostly away for work throughout the year.
Wolfhard had waited out the COVID-19 pandemic at his Vancouver home, as per The Guardian. In his interview with the outlet, the actor noted he had learned “how to be bored,” there.
In a 2019 interview with Ryan Reynolds for Interview Magazine, Wolfhard opened up about his love for Vancouver. He shared that he wouldn’t “be the same person” if he wasn’t raised in Vancouver.
