Fire Force Season 3, Episode 3 Release Date & Time

Fire Force Season 3, Episode 3 Release Date & Time

Fire Force Season 3 is only two episodes in and already delivered in the best way possible. The first two episodes were cinematic and set the stage for the shonen anime’s final season. With Shinra and the members of the 8th joining Joker and Licht in the dark side, and Captain Burns joining the White Clad, the status quo is no longer what it was at the beginning of Fire Force. Raffles III declared the 8th enemies of the Tokyo Empire, ultimately making it so that they are now hated by everyone in the Tokyo Empire.

Fire Force Season 3, Episode 2, “Prisoner” was definitely a transitional episode, but it didn’t even feel like one. While there were many moving narrative threads, not once did the episode feel confusing. It raised the stakes with every scene and built such hype for what is on the horizon. Fire Force Season 3, Episode 2, was the most exciting episode of the season so far, despite it not having any action sequences or any of the fiery fights that are a staple of the shonen anime.

Fire Force Season 3, Episode 3 will be titled «Incarnation of Flame» and, from the title alone, it seems like the episode will delve back into the lore. Whether it will showcase more of Shinra’s innate power or, even more exciting, Captain Burns himself. If the lens does shift onto the 1st’s Captain, it could be interesting to understand more why the Captain believes the way he does, or whether or not there is more to his shifting sides than meets the eye.

What's Going to Happen in Fire Force Season 3, Episode 3

Fire Force Season 3, Episode 3 Preview Breakdown

In the preview sequence at the end of Fire Force Season 3, Episode 2, three distinct shots are used. It’s frustrating that these previews are nothing more than three shots, as they don’t really reveal much. Putting them in context with what happened in Episode 2, the task of threading them together becomes easier. The preview begins with a shot of a metal structure and hands bound by chains. It’s safe to say that this is Captain Obi in some form of ritual.

Perhaps this is part of Captain Burns’ plan to use a bug on Obi and turn him into an Infernal. If that is the case, and Burns succeeds, then Shinra will have to fight his Captain. The following shot is of a very determined Shinra and Joker staring ahead. Now, this could be at the start of the episode as they still do appear in front of a wall similar to the one they were standing before at the end of Fire Force Season 3, Episode 2.

The final shot in the preview is of Captain Burns surrounded by flame. This shot, in particular, potentially shifts the title’s episode to being about the Captain. Again, nothing is yet confirmed but the shonen anime is inching closer to this inevitable battle between Shinra and Captain Burns. Fire Force Season 3 ignited the final season in the best way possible, and if the remaining episodes follow suit, then fans are in for a very explosive season.

What Happened in Fire Force Season 3, Episode 2, "Prisoner"

Fire Force Season 3, Episode 2 Was a Transitional Episode

Fire Force Season 3, Episode 2, «Prisoner» picked up after the ending of the premiere, and wasted no time in setting the landscape and the ramifications of Raffles III uniting with the White Clad. The 8th are now labeled enemies of the state, the other Companies debating whether or not they will be standing with their comrades, and ultimately the 8th going rogue. With those who are heroes crossing into the dark, and those who are villains standing in the light of the sun, Fire Force sets the stage for the inevitable clash between the White Clad and the 8th.

While most of the episode was dialogue heavy, that dialogue was all intentional and nothing felt out of place or forced. There was a need for it in order for what’s to come to feel earned. No story can survive without stakes, and Fire Force Season 3 is definitely raising them in the boldest way possible. Captain Obi receives a visitor from a new White Clad named Gold, who holds a vial with a bug, moving Captain Burns’ plans are in motion. Shinra and Joker break through the prison walls ready to take on whatever is necessary to save Captain Obi and whether they are able to succeed or not remains to be seen.
