Forever Skies Workshop Walkthrough
After you’ve created a cure, your next stop will be the Cosmodrome in an attempt to launch a rocket into space. Unfortunately, your suit’s A.I. stops you by destroying the rocket, forcing you to seek an alternate path. We’ll help you find it in our Forever Skies Workshop Walkthrough!
This alternate path leads you to the Workshop, a unique location filled with several new mechanics for locking doors. There are no enemies to worry about here, but you’ll have to figure out how to open up several locked areas.
Landing on the Workshop
You’ll want to make sure you have at least 4 Solid State Batteries and 20 Charged Bolts in your inventory. You’ll also want the Repair Thrower and 100 Repair Foam.
Our first main goal will be to get the Cutting Tool, a new device that will allow you to pop open the doors and containers in the Workshop. Unfortunately, it is locked in an Airship attached to a crane, so we’ll need to get the Airship open first.
There are controls on the right side of this Airship. Interact with them and lower the Airship as far down as it will go.
Opening Up the Garage Gate
Look around and you’ll find some stairs going down nearby. Work your way down to the next level. You’ll see the Airship is above a platform with three red lights next to it. The red lights are locks, and one button for these locks is right next to the Airship.
Push the button and the light above the button and one of the lights near the door will both change color to white.
It’s now time to find the other two buttons. Go to the other side of the ship and you’ll see two blue conduits going into two separate buildings.
We’ll tackle the left building first. Turn to your left and you’ll see a barrier that can be broken by shooting it with a Charged Bolt. Shoot it to break open the wall.
Next, head inside and you’ll see a door with a bar and a red light on it. Head deeper into the room and you’ll see a broken piece of equipment on the other side of the room through a hole in the wall.
This is a Broken Mechanism; it’s tied to a nearby Door with Latch. You need to repair the Broken Mechanism in order to power up the Door with Latch and gain access to the next section.
Use the Repair Thrower to fix the Broken Mechanism from a distance. Don’t worry about going through the door just yet; we need to open up another area.
Head up the staircase in between the two buildings. Go all the way to the roof and look for a hole in the ceiling looking at a locked door below.
Shoot the lock with a Charged Bolt.
While we can reach the switch on the bottom floor, we have a shortcut to the adjacent building. Go over the bridge and you’ll see a hole in the roof of the neighboring building.
Drop down, loot this area, and then drop down again to the next floor. You’ll see one of the buttons with a red light above it; push the button to turn the white light on.
Work your way downstairs and you’ll find another Broken Mechanism and a paired Door with Latch. Turn to your right and head back into the first building. You can now work your way downstairs to the third and final button. Head back up to the Airship on the crane.
If all three lights are white, you’ll be able to open the gate. Lower the Airship using the crane on the opposite side of the gate, then climb down the stairs deeper into the workshop.
Powering Up the Workshop
Look around for a piece of Silicon leaning up against a wall on the second level above the bottom-most part of this room.
Remove this piece of Silicon. Walk up to the hole, and you’ll be able to see a lock on a door through the hole. Shoot the lock with your Crossbow.
Go down one level and walk around to the room you just opened up. Inside, you’ll find the Workshop Power Generator.
Put four Solid State Batteries into the slots of the Workshop Power Generator. Turn the Workshop Power Generator on and you’ll gain access to all of the powered doors in the lower facility.
Getting and Using the Cutting Tool
Powering up this generator will also let you get into the Airship on the crane as long as it’s all the way at the bottom of the shaft.
Head inside the Airship and scan the Cutting Tool. Then, return to your ship, research it, and craft it. Don’t forget to offload any loot you’ve picked up — there’s tons of stuff to be found in this location.
Head back into the Workshop. If you wish, you can work your way downward, opening up doors and containers to get loot.
Pay special attention to these small cylinders:
Cutting the wires on the sides of these with the Cutting Tool will get you a new resource called Machine Parts. This is your first opportunity to get it and they can’t be crafted, so grab every single one you can. They can also be found in small electrical cabinets in buildings and shipping containers here.
Using the Technology Printer to Get the AI-Tree Keycard
Work your way back down to the Airship at the bottom of the shaft. In the background, you’ll see a machine.
This is the Technology Printer. This is a new kind of trading kiosk where you can buy some tech items. One of the items you’ll need to buy to advance the story is the Blueprint: AI-Tree Keycard.
You can sell items to get Technology Tokens and unlock higher tiers of purchases. I recommend selling Polymer since you can grow Canola Multidoight Flower with farming. You’ll need 50 Polymer; it shouldn’t be too hard to get this together between the loot you’ve acquired in this location and crafting it.
Getting to the Cockroaches Hideout
Purchase the AI-Tree Keycard, but don’t leave just yet — we also need to get into the Cockroaches Hideout.
Look down this hallway opposite the rear of the docked Airship:
Head down this hallway. Look down, and you’ll see the facility goes a few levels down.
Go down to the lowest level. Look in the corner by the large metal wheel. You’ll see a sealed door that you can open with the Cutter. Go through this door and turn right.
Here you’ll see the symbol for the Cockroaches along with the Cockroaches Access Terminal. Scan the Cockroaches Access Terminal with your Scanner to unlock the crafting recipe for the Cockroaches Key.
Crafting the Keys
Return to your ship and craft the AI-Tree Keycard and the Cockroaches Key. Head back down to the Cockroaches Hideout and open the door with the Cockroaches Key. Inside, you’ll find a red Pendrive (that is, a flash drive) on the desk.
Scan the Pendrive with your Scanner and you’ll unlock research to craft a virus that will kill the Rogue AI.
At this point, it’s time to leave the Workshop. There’s a ton of loot here, so you may want to take your time grabbing everything you can in the area. Otherwise, return to your ship, research the Pendrive with the Virus, and craft it.
