Fortnite leak reveals seven new modes despite recent shutdowns

Epic Games

Just weeks after Epic Games announced it would be shutting three Fortnite modes, a new leak has revealed that there are seven new ones being worked on.

On March 24, it was confirmed that Ballistic, Rocket Racing, and Festival Battle Stage would all be going offline for good. Ballistic and Festival Battle Stages close their doors on April 6, while Rocket Racing has until October.

However, if you thought that this would lead to a significant reduction in the number of experiences available in Fortnite, think again, as a new leak has revealed there are “tons” more in development.

Fornite leak claims seven new modes are on the way

Trusted leaker ‘Loolo’ shared an X post claiming that Epic is working on seven brand-new modes, all of which are coming to Fortnite in the future. Although there were no official names, only codenames, they also provided a brief description of each one.

WickedSmoke is said to be a new “Social-First” mode in a similar vein to Delulu, while UnableRoman is a traditional Team Deathmatch playlist. There were also two Lego modes mentioned: Rivalry, which introduces mechs that can be piloted, and CurioBox, which is another social role-playing mode that sounds similar to Brick Life.

Loolo then mentioned a fresh Reload mode, Fortnite’s smaller BR experience similar to Warzone Resurgence, with a new map that has the codename MatchMist. There was also Bulldog and Husky, which will apparently be tied to the Disney mode that has been in development for some time.

Perhaps most interesting of all, though, is BabyCorgi, which the leaker described as “likely related to Ballistic.” Given that Ballistic is set to go offline from April 16, this sounds like it could be a new mode set to replace it.

Although it didn’t attract huge numbers, the tactical FPS did carve out a passionate community, with YouTuber Typical Gamer even offering to buy it and keep it going. But based on this leak, it sounds like Epic is working on a similar experience that could scratch that itch.
