Forza Horizon 6 Best Cars

The best cars to take on any event.

Forza Horizon 6 Best Cars

With over 600 cars at launch, narrowing down the best Forza Horizon 6 cars isn’t an easy task. Each vehicle starts in a particular class with unique stats that make it better suited for certain race types. Tuning cars can wildly change these stats, meaning that what feels better for you might be different for someone else.

Still, I can point you in the right direction for what to focus on. Some vehicles stand out for good reason and are better worth investing your time and credits into. I’ll be covering the best cars from A class to the new R class, as well as the overall fastest car and best for rally and off road races.

Fastest car in Forza Horizon 6

2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition R35 Forza Edition

  • How to get: Receive from Wheelspins or purchase from the Auction House.

What determines the fastest car is dependent on multiple stats, the vehicle’s tires, and the terrain you’re racing on. The fastest car to take on the road might not make it past the first turn of a snowy track if you take it as is.

Since you’re likely searching for the fastest drag racing car or the best car to three-star speed traps and speed zones, I must recommend the 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition R35 Forza Edition. This speed demon feels like it’s part rocket. However, it’s only obtainable from wheelspins or by being lucky enough to snag one before other frantic auction house buyers.

If you’re looking for something more obtainable and with more use cases, the 1994 Mazda MX-5 Forza Edition is a fantastic alternative. It handles and accelerates incredibly well, only requiring some light tuning to add some higher speed.

Best R class car in Forza Horizon 6

2018 Ferrari FXX-K EVO ‘Welcome Pack’

  • How to get: Purchase the Welcome Pack DLC either separately or with the Deluxe or Premium Editions of the game.

Everything gets faster the higher you go in classes, and R class is the absolute highest besides the tuning-required X class. The biggest setback with these generally quicker vehicles is that they’re difficult to control. Many will require some tuning to improve handling and avoid spinning out in sharp corners.

Which is why the 2018 Ferrari FXX-K EVO ‘Welcome Pack’ is my choice for Forza Horizon 6’s best R class car. It’s not the fastest, but it comes with perfect tuning that lets it handle corners easily without sacrificing too much speed. The only caveat is that this vehicle is exclusive to the Welcome Pack DLC, which requires a separate purchase or ownership of the Deluxe or Premium Editions of the game.

Another option if you’re looking for something available in the base game is the 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro. As a track-centric car it’s less versatile in use, however, that falls in line with most R class cars. What’s most beneficial here is the incredible handling it starts off with. If you don’t want to spend 4,200,000 credits at the Autoshow, it’s also available as a reward in the Collection Journal’s Horizon Legend category.

Best S2 class car in Forza Horizon 6

2021 Mercedes-AMG One

  • How to get: Purchase for 2,800,000 credits at the Autoshow, receive through a Wheelspin, or have Forza Horizon 5 save data on your account.

The S2 class is where you’ll begin to start racing with Hypercars. These are more built for racing and speed specifically, so you’ll need to be attentive when it comes to handling. They’re still more adaptable than the R class and can shine outside of circuits or track races.

Standing at the top both in reliability and the S2 class performance index is the 2021 Mercedes-AMG One. Fans will recognize this as a cover vehicle from Forza Horizon 5, with save data in that entry providing you the car for free in its sequel. The standout element here is the unmatched acceleration, giving you a leg up in races with long stretches and Drag Racing events alike.

Right behind it is the 2020 Koenigsegg Jesko. These vehicles are known for high speeds and that’s exactly what you’ll get with this model. Decent handling makes it a great option for some speed traps, although it will still take some tuning and careful driving to master.

Best S1 class car in Forza Horizon 6

2024 Nissan GT-R NISMO

  • How to get: Purchase for 270,000 credits at the Autoshow or receive as a Collection Journal reward by completing the Touge & Street Rivals category.

Supercars, where the line between the fastest commercially available vehicles and those built for performance begins to blur, is what the S1 class revolves around. A moderate percentage will feel ideal for track races, albeit, there is still some wonderful variety to find.

What’s felt like the best S1 class car to me is the 2024 Nissan GT-R NISMO that can be purchased for 270,000 credits or obtained as the final Touge & Street Rivals Collection Journal reward. This vehicle is unsurprisingly a menace in both Touge and Street races. Just a little bit of tuning ensures that it’s viable in higher classes as well.

Another terrific S1 class car worth investing in is the 2017 Ford #14 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing GRC Fiesta. It can be purchased for 150,000 credits, but I unlocked it early on for free by earning 850 points in the Collection Journal’s Bonus Boards category. This is a great rally car for the class and only requires slight tweaking to adapt to other race types.

Best A class car in Forza Horizon 6

2016 Jeep Trailcat

  • How to get: Purchase for 70,000 credits at the Autoshow or receive through a Wheelspin.

A class vehicles are what you’ll depend on during the mid-game and potentially end-game if you tune them right. You’re likely to find the most variety in car types here.

A big contributor to my A class event success has been the 2016 Jeep Trailcat. Even though there are better off road options when it comes to handling, this vehicles feels like a tank when you drive it right. No matter if you spend 70,000 credits or receive it from a wheelspin like I did, it can help you beat those long cross-country races with little to no tuning required.

On the opposite end, but just as helpful, is the 2023 Honda Civic Type R. With front-wheel drive, decent speed, and only a 620 score on the performance index, this monster in disguise provides wonderful handling and still has room for improvements. It’s also the most accessible car on this list, being cheap at the Autoshow, available as an Aftermarket Car, and as a Car Upgrades Collection Journal reward.

Best rally car in Forza Horizon 6

2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

  • How to get: Purchase for 30,000 credits at the Autoshow, purchase as an Aftermarket Car, or receive through a Wheelspin.

Rally cars are all about racing through dirt roads as opposed to pavement. Swapping over to some rally tires will help you out, but you’ll have better luck winning these kinds of races with a car tuned or built specifically for them.

I found a lot of success with the 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Even though it’s a B class car you can get for a cheap 30,000 credits at the Autoshow, tuning it now and then kept me supported in higher classes. It honestly felt like the car that I used the most successfully across more challenging races.

A fantastic alternative is the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR ‘Welcome Pack’ that comes in the Welcome Pack DLC. It starts superior to the previous car in most ways, though that’s expected with a top of the A class performance index placement. Tuning the base version of the car can provide similar results, although it will take more credits and experimentation.

Best off road car in Forza Horizon 6

2022 Subaru BRZ Forza Edition

  • How to get: Purchase for 450,000 credits as an Aftermarket Car within the Sotoyama Ski Resort area.

While city races and drifting down mountain roads might be seen as the quintessential Japan racing experience, Forza Horizon 6 also features a lot of off-road terrain to drive on. You’ll become very accustomed to driving through fields and forests.

What has certainly felt like the best car to tackle both off road and cross-country races is the 2022 Subaru BRZ Forza Edition. This strange chimera of a vehicle sits at the top of A class and is the perfect car to blaze past others both off and on the pavement. It can be bought as an Aftermarket Car for 450,000 credits and is located northeast of the Snow Forest Cross Country Circuit at the Sotoyama Ski Resort.

If you’re early enough that you don’t want to spend that many credits, yet have purchased the VIP Membership DLC or received it with the Premium Edition, the free 1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR Forza Edition in your garage is a perfect alternative. It can excel in any off road race and trek through snow just as fine as long as you slap some snow tires on.

Best drift car in Forza Horizon 6

1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex

  • How to get: Purchase for 30,000 credits at the Autoshow or receive through a Wheelspin.

Drifting is a big part of any racing game, and it’s predictably very important in Forza Horizon 6’s Japan. From winding downhill mountain roads to corner-filled city races, there is always a reason to drift. Conquering Drift Zones and the tightest serpentine paths will require more than a pair of Drift tires. You’re going to need to be using the right kind of vehicle.

Initial D fans can rejoice because the 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex is genuinely the best drift car I’ve used in Forza Horizon 6. On top of being the best vehicle to learn how drifting works, repeated tune-ups will keep it relevant far into higher class events. This 30,000 credit-costing D class vehicle truly deserves the title of best drift car.

As an aside, I’ll also mention the Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex Forza Edition. This pre-tuned version sits as the top of B class with with plenty of options to take it farther. Unfortunately, it’s one of the most difficult cars to acquire as you’ll need to earn 5,000 points from the Collection Journal’s Master Explorer category. Hitting every Forza Horizon 6 mascot only provides 500 points for reference. Needless to say, using the base version is preferred.

My second choice is even more unconventional. If you’re willing to experiment with your own or community tunes, the bottom-of-the-barrel D class delivery truck 1994 Honda Acty can actually three-star every Drift Zone. I didn’t believe it until I tried it out myself and found genuine success. If delivery truck drifting sounds fun, you can’t go wrong with this tiny work vehicle.

You’ll be well-suited to take on the proper events with these cars in your garage. Of course, with the right tuning you can find success with practically any vehicle. Finding and tuning up every Barn Find and Treasure Car is a great idea if you’re looking to save credits.
