Call of Duty: Warzone's developers have confirmed that the tactical sprint bug affecting reloads should be fixed in an update next week. The frustrating glitch was introduced to Call of Duty: Warzone after a recent update.
Call of Duty's Season 3 Reloaded update arrived on May 1 and brought a bunch of content to Warzone, like the Loaded Resurgence playlist that lets users drop in with their own loadouts and new features for Rebirth Island, like Weapon Trade Stations and the Specialist perk package. However, the update also introduced a major bug that affects users who enable the Automatic Tactical Sprint option. Every time these players attempt to reload while moving forward, their reload is continuously canceled. Fortunately, the issue should be fixed soon.
Call of Duty news Twitter account CharlieIntel shared a message posted on Call of Duty's website that confirmed developers are treating the bug as a high-priority issue and that a patch is expected to be released "sometime next week." CharlieIntel speculated that the relatively long wait could be due to the bug fix requiring a full update to be implemented, rather than just a hotfix. In the meantime, there are a couple of temporary workarounds for the issue. Automatic Tactical Sprint users can change that setting to the Automatic Sprint option and the Tactical Sprint Behavior setting to the Single Tap Sprint option, which removes the glitch but does require some getting used to. Alternatively, users who want to keep their ATS option enabled can hold the reload button instead of tapping it, which also defeats the bug for some users.
How To Fix Warzone's Tactical Sprint Reload Bug
- Change Automatic Sprint setting from Automatic Tactical Sprint to Automatic Sprint
- Then, change Tactical Sprint Behavior setting to Single Tap Sprint
- Or, simply hold reload instead of tapping it, which also defeats the bug for some users
Alongside the message confirming Call of Duty's next bug fix, Warzone received a couple of gameplay changes as well. The DG-58 LSW's JAK Nightshade conversion kit was nerfed, with its max damage, damage range, and headshot modifier decreased. Additionally, the Lockwood MK2's JAK Wardens conversion kit was fixed by removing an issue that caused bullets to not behave as intended when firing the akimbo weapons at the same time.
Now that Season 3 Reloaded has come and gone, Call of Duty fans looking forward to the next major update will likely need to wait until late May when Season 4 is expected to launch. However, that's not all that CoD fans can look forward to, as recent leaks suggest that Call of Duty 2024 will be revealed soon, possibly this month.
If the CoD 2024 reveal doesn't happen by the end of May, it could very well take place at Xbox's June showcase. The console maker seemed to heavily hint that Treyarch's anticipated title would be shown at the event, although this hasn't been explicitly confirmed yet.
